Some players want the glory, but don't want to pay the price. Some players who are physically more mature than others can dominate in HS without putting in the time and effort. I'm not saying this is his issue, but he obviously can't keep his weight down enough to be an effective Dlineman. It's not about size and strength in college, it's quickness and athleticism, speed off the ball, playing smart. These things take commitment and effort. I really wish Shelvin would get things together because he has a lot of potential. He could be a huge asset to the defense. And that defense needs as many asset's as possible.

End of the day, he's not committed to getting shape and becoming a better player. It's not going to work out for him at LSU. The two sides should part ways.

How in the hell can someone have being a millionaire on the line and still not figure out staying in shape? At stinking 20 years old?

I’m ready for coach O to kick him off the team. He is a me player who doesn’t want to put in the work. I hope he doesn’t become a cancer on the team.

Apparently he’s obese 300 plus pounds and can’t quit being fat. From what I understand he’s out of shape and just not cutting it. We’ll never see him. Another unicorn unable to get out of the way of themselves.

It's baffling and frustrating I know. We see this kid and others like him and it just seems they have the world in the palm f their hand and just blow it away in one way or another. Maybe Shelvins issues are more mental than physical. IDK my friend. Do you remember Stanley Roberts, John 'hot plate' Williams? Guys who had all the physical tools and couldn't stay in shape. I think Stanley was on the lazy side. I served in the USAF with a guy that played on Stanleys HS team and he told me Stanley just played lazy in games. But he didn't need to play with a lot of aggression being nearly 7 foot and weighing over 250 pounds. He was athletic enough and big enough and skilled enough he could dominate without playing hard. Anyway, its really frustrating to see a player so young with so much potential let it all go to waste.

If he hasn’t shown signs he is willing by now to put the cake down 99% chance he will never.

This kid will live a life of regrets. Destined to live a sad life listening to “glory days” and wishing he could go back in time. What a waste.
