are those exceptions worth the risk?
i don't see how those exceptions apply to LSU
nobody is claiming that keiland was that bad, or that ford is that bad...at least i don't think so
i assume they both his that baseline requirement of preparation and practice. they just didn't excel in either

can you explain why he didn't get more carries, namely in 2007
We all remember the VT game. That was Keiland's breakout game. He looked great. But I honestly can't remember being impressed with him too much in other games that year. He was good in spurts. Maybe it was a lack of touches that caused his impact to be minimal the rest of the year. I don't believe in the "fumbling" myth.
I don't have a concrete reason why he didn't get more touches. I am a huge Keiland fan. I wish he got more carries because I was a fan of his but I also feel that Hester was a great back for LSU and I don't feel as if the coaches made a bad decision playing him as much as they did.

I have no explanation for this. Still a mystery to me today. I was at that game in Kentucky and was wondering if Scott got hurt before half or something because he was having such a great game.

As opposed to having T-Jack starting and maxing out at 8 or 9 wins those two years.
who knows...do you think the fans are reveling in the glory of a near NFC-championship?

he already had that in 2006, imho

there are rumors (RUMORS) that there was something that occurred in the locker room at half. again, RUMORS

I def get what you're saying. That there are some players who can excell bases on their god given talents alone. Only using their above average skill, physical abilities, and athleticism. There are cases that demonstrate this. But seriously man, take the list you made of lazy guys and compare it to a list of guys who have those abilities and put in all the hard work. I bet you there are more Lombardi's and Hall of Famers on the second list.

More than they would be if they didn't make the playoffs that year because Tavaris Jackson started.

I'm not talking about a specific case, just the concept that the biggest potential threat should always play first, regardless of their preparation or work ethic...

Which game did he breakout in that season (or have a big games in)? I'm not remembering off the top of my head.

he had a string of good games from UTenn on
but if you want a single game, sugar bowl v ND was a pretty "breakout" game. he would have had a lot more yards if we hadn't been blowin them out, also

C'mon man I'm really wanting to compare these lists

i hope that nobody will say that hard work isn't a good thing. that isn't what people are saying, really

It was the management of the RBs, Larry Porter style.

Usually but there are definitely exceptions too, which apparently some people don't believe.
i dont think Brett Favre was a leader on those Viking teams

The reason blue saw the field cus he was the most pollished back. Les wants his backs to block. Ware and ford needed work on that last season.

On this work ethic thing, i would lije my ciach to play the guys that bust their arse day in and day out. Why play someone who only cares ab himself? Good wY to lose a team, especially when 60 other guys bust their arse to get where they are at. No one player deserves everything handed to them, regardless of how good they are.

so you'd sit a more productive player b/c another player at the same position worked harder?

For someone to say practice shouldn't matter...obviously has never played the game.
Stick to the poli board man.

your performance in games matters
you don't win games by practicing well. you win games on the field
