It absolutely was a blindside block. It would have been perfectly legal in 1957. Nowadays, it's just a dirty play. And illegal.

It's possible that Joe actually died on that play, went to Heaven and spoke to God who sent him back to this life with some kind of grand purpose.

Burrow is now a Super Bowl QB after his second year.

Both of those are romantic versions. It didn’t start anywhere in particular, unless you want to point to his birthday, or the day he committed to LSU.
