What we should expect at QB: Jennings and Harris battle in a "close battle" in Fall Camp. Harris is not deemed "much stronger" that Jennings. Miles and Cam opt to continue with Jennings for the McNeese start, with a lot of language stating how far Harris has come, and that Miles expects both to see the field. The story stays the same heading into the Miss State game.

What MOST LSU fans want, but should not expect: Harris to get the clear nod. If this occurs, then enjoy that rarity and get excited to see him as the prime QB, but don't expect it.

Does anyone think that it is realistic to expect something else? If so, why?

Jennings, Bain, and Thomas will at least be suspended for the opener.

Yes, Miles has been the king of using the doghouse. AJ missed almost the entire summer workouts due to a behavioral mistake. AJ gave CLM the excuse or reason to put him at #2 on the Depth Chart. He will have to work his way back to #1.

For all you conspiracy believers, even JJ did not get his job back until JL gave it back to him in the Bama game.

I expect Harris to be the #1 going into the fall camp but I realize he could lose it if he does not show better game management. That is where he is getting the knock from the coaching staff - not his talent. He should know by now what the coaches expect of him.

A lot is going to depend upon the offensive philosophy. If Miles/Cam decide to stay with a strategy that still depends a lot on QB reads and adjustments at the line, the Jennings probably gets the nod. Harris will only be able to earn the job by showing the staff they can trust him to execute the offense.

Now, there have been some indications that they'll take more of a managed approach to the offense and take some of that responsibility away from the QB, if that's the case, Harris has a much better shot to start game 1.

Jennings will be suspended for McNeese st. It is up to Harris to make sure he continues to start from there.

Barring injury I hope AJ never sees the field. I'm glad that he didn't have to face criminal charges, but I don't think his on the field performance is worth his baggage.

What's of upmost importance is the team feeling that the best player starts. BH has fall camp to prove-- in the eyes of coaches and teammates--that he's the choice.

I hope you realize that all 3 players are subject to being disciplined by Miles. I would expect a 3 or 4 game suspension from Miles which sucks because we could definitely use Bain and Thomas from the beginning.

I hope to see Jennings on the field being introduced (before the game) on senior day two years from now.

Other than that, I hope he never sees the field. He had a FULL season to demonstrate his abilities and failed miserably.

I don't think people were upset about that game. The question was...Why didn't JL get it back when JJ wasn't getting the job done?

Many people (me included) have little patience with AJ and CLM due to the JJ situation. In the end JJ wasn't the right guy and it appears we're headed down the same road with AJ. (As much as I thought JJ was a rock head, he was twice as talented as AJ.)

Harris starts the mcnese game he must seize that opportunity. Otherwise we see a 2qb system which by November Harris is ready to truly lead the offense. If Harris struggles and makes careless plays then AJ will have his shot. Imo Harris starts and owns mcneese and starts vs msu with a short leash. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 2qb system first half of the year either. Spurrier said it best if both qbs are even and can't separate themselves from the other then u play both. If I had to choose one now. I believe Harris wins the job. He knows just enough to win job. Last year he didn't know the offense at all really and AJ still couldn't seperate himself. Harris has wked hard in weight room let's hope he's wkin hard in film room. AJ is gonna be tough to outwork in filmroom. Too many ppl have given up on him even though many qbs don't turn a corner until ther junior seasons. We can win with both and both will play much better. Cameron will find easy ways to get ball to playmakers. I can't wait to see this play out and I will feel confident in either qb. Again maybe not by end of camp but at some point Harris wins outright unless AJ plays mistake free football and throws the rock much better.
