That's ok, I've bashed D Byrd to a lot of my friends ever since he decided he doesn't have to catch a pass which hits him in the hands...

the one thing i have never like about miles, is that he just doesnt get very pissed off, i like a coach that is going to get his guys fired up, or at least but the fear in them, miles just seems to pat everyone on the back and say its going to be ok...great effort

I've been dreading the day he would run out of talent to win despite being an idiot.

His poor clock management, smug attitude, refusal to address any short comings (coaches or players), refusal to show emotion (unless it's contrived at a press conference) are just a few of the many reasons I can't stand him at this point.

Seriously, a coach has to get angry and in players faces at SOME point. Even 3rd or 4th grade coaches yell to get their point across. No wonder the players don't listen

On defense,we need an aggressive, tough coach like Pelini was and what Muschamp is.Someone with passion and fire. Also,we need to recruit faster d-lineman and linebackers.I loved when we had big, powerful dlineman that over matched the o-line like Lavalais,Jackson,Dorsey, and Spears. But the days of 290 pound d-ends in the SEC are over. The spread is in,and we need 250 pound 4.5 guys up there.

You pretty much nailed it.

Probably. Now starts the bad part. The waiting game. If next year is just as bad, or, as I expect, worse, does he get the boot then? I'm not sure.

LSU certainly has a history of being overly patient with coaches, usually waiting until they've completely destroyed the program before finally giving up on them. But these are different times. There's big money involved and an infrastructure that simply can't be supported without a successful football program.

Maybe, for once, LSU will be proactive and get rid of a coach while there's still a program to save. Maybe Miles won't see 2010 on the LSU sideline.

damn people....look, if BelowPar says Miles was given his marching papers in regards to malleveto after the OleMiss game, it's done

I certainly hope this proves to be accurate. I have heard nothing since the game to indicate that changes are coming.

Crowton has a very complicated offense

Are you serious.

He's right dude.

Teh reason we are so limited in playcalling is because the QB doesn't have a full grasp of the offense.

And, many of the passing plays we have are off the chart because of the learning curve needed to run them.

Would the new AD really put the press game on Miles? Is a struggling football season that bad to Alleva? After all, he came from Duke, he has seen MANY. I think Miles will be under pressure from Boosters and maybe Alumni to be more productive but with a NC in his back pocket, he will definitely be given a pass on this season and some lead way on his decision with the Co-DC's.

I keep hearing the players make fun of him and have no respect for him at all. If they would fire him now LSU would be better off.

I supported him letting Perrilloux go. It was the right move to make. But he is a terrible coach. I have not been a big Les supporter from the very first time i heard him speak. I thought he was a softie and when you're dealing with 18-22 yr old kids you have to be a disciplinarian. And he is not. Nor is he an offensive coach and he shouldn't be changing all of crowton's playcalling. He is killing Crowton's offense. I saw what he did at Tech, the Bears, and Oregon. He is a great offensive mind. But Miles always plays not to lose, and that is what gets him in trouble.

Nailed it. I've obviously been disapointed in this year, but I could accept 4 losses, so long as we beat Arky and won the bowl game. Yesterday was absolutly horrible, and unexceptable as a season ticket holder. LSU failing overnight is awful for BR, and the university. There are worse things, but the fact that this seems so unnecessary is why it is so frustrating.

As the other poster mentioned, what if WVU beat Pitt last year, then what? What is the shelf life on the 2007 NC? I think next year we need to see real results and for God's sake, at least be competitive with teams with equal or more talent.

I'm still a Miles Supporter. He didn't make all the right decisions, but he did kick Perrilloux off the team, breaking in a new QB. Yes, obviously there is still some changes that need to be made.

Duke and LSU are apples and oranges comparison. Duke always has basketball, has never had football. Plus, it is a private school with many rich alums .

Jury's still out on Alleva but I think he knows that football is the lifeblood of the athletic department and university. LSU NEEDS a successful, or at least competitive football team.
