Better to have a gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

No. You are some idiot who has a misguided belief based in liberalism and apparently are anti-2nd Amendment.
You have a liberal belief system whether you realize it or not.
Carrying a weapon at 18 for self defense is perfectly legal and whether the young man is an LSU athlete or just
"Joe on the corner" is irrelevant.
The vast majority of Americans love the 2nd Amendment and certainly do not have a problem with these young men protecting themselves.

My wife sent me to that part of town to sell sone Xbox crap for my son. Where I ended up, I should have been armed. Since nobody was there at the address except a vacant lot, I thought for sure it was a setup and I was about to be ambushed. Won't do that crap again.

I’ll never lose hope in our country, but morons like you make me wonder sometimes if there is any hope

If you don’t have a felony and your not drunk it’s just smart to have a gun. Now not all people are ready to carry a gun but me and many others have carried a gun every since I went off to college. Been about 25 years now and I haven’t ever had to use it and I hope it stays that way but it’s one of those things that’s better to have and not need, than it is to need and not have. You just have to be responsible and try to avoid problems but it should be that way even if you don’t have a gun

LOL. Which figs up voted this op? So, let's blame guns in this situation when a guy robs you with a gun and you fear for your life? Criminals will always have guns people. You don't think they try to stop it everyday all day and they still smuggle them in or something else? Yall would be the dumbfricks who get caught without one when you really need it. Just stupid.

I had an assault attempt on me from a huge young man simply because I spoke to his father w-out permission (in Dallas).
His father intervened but took all he had to hold him back.
Talked to his father a while after, nice black guy from Natchitoche as it turns out. Some youngsters are stupid.
After all of that I showed the father that his son almost died..I had my 38 Special on my waist.

Was anything done that was illegal?
2nd amendment means he can have a gun.
You may think it's stupid for a college student to bring a gun to a sale of a PS4 but he has the right to. Some people want to be safe especially in a day and age where evil men go into schools and churches and kill people. CEH dad is a cop so he carries as well, what's the big deal.

Well, we all know there are polar viewpoints re killing to protect one's property. And make no mistake, the PC POV will be the one that will be the (politically) 'correct' public narrative. Given the whole (Racial) dynamic, there is no way that LSU/NCAA can get behind killing to defend one's property. CEH is going to be the 'banner' person for this action, and at the very least, will suffer grave personal injury going forward. His football career is in jeopardy (IMO).
A 10%- chance of being harmed - especially in this broad daylight scenario - shrinks to way down, if CEH had simply surrendered His property. And the politically correct public knows this...and that will be the public perception, as it is the truth. And it will put negative perception on CEH's CHOICE, nws the legality or even principled, moral stand in exercising that choice.
Name a high profile football player who wants to be a poster person for the NRA, and thinks such is a solid career booster.
For the record, there is heat in my truck...but I loathe the scenario that I might be forced to employ it; and I tell Family (who carry) to weigh the potential choices therein. I would have given up the property, to avoid killing the robber, in this instance. But that's just me. And I'll bet ten to one, if CEH had a do over...He'd do the same.
Tragic. Prayers for CEH and all honest folk concerned. Hard times.

Same reason they can say essentially whatever they want without being arrested.
