I live in Birmingham, go to Samford pharmacy school, and in May, 6 of us in my class went to europe. In paris, I'm walking down the steps at Sainte-Chappelle and I see an LSU shirt, I yell GEAUX TIGERS, and before he could respond I hear some fat bitch say "Roll Tide", then I say "I come all the way to europe and I have to hear this shite." She was quiet after that.

Whenever I have to go to DC and NOVA I see lots of LSU bumper stickers on the backs of cars up there.

So earlier today I was in Gilroy, CA at the Gilroy Garlic Festival and I saw an asian kid wearing an LSU shirt and I didnt think he was an LSU fan. I felt like he might have just been wearing it like some people wear Yankees or Red Sox apparel. Do you guys think most people outside of Louisiana or the South who wear LSU gear are fans or just people who buy it cause it is cool to wear?

BR native, LSU alumni, lived out here in Da Bay for 30 years.

Podnah, I wear my gear as much as possible.

I can GUAR-RAN-DAMN-TEE ya that if I see somebody with gear on I say "Geaux Tigers".

I ALWAYS get the same in response.

LSU gear won't EVER be the fashion, pal.

And I hope it stays that way.

It's not unusual here in DC for me to see someone in an LSU hat or shirt. If I'm close enough, I give them a "Geaux Tigers!" or something, but even if I'm not, it's cool to see it. When I wore an LSU shirt to work on the day of the 2007/8 national championship game against Ohio State, I got lots of comments (all positive) on the way to work, at work, and on the way to the bar after work to watch the game.

There are more of us Louisiana transplants in other parts of the country than you think.

I guess that's one benefit of having one of the biggest out-migration rates in the country.

I always do that. I get so excited seeing anyone with LSU stuff in San Francisco. Hell, I get excited seeing any SEC transplants/visitors in SF...especially since the Big 10/Pac 10 fans outnumber the SEC fans on the West Coast. Midwestern folk move away from home like no other. I just instinctively Tiger Bait the SEC fans, I see. I don't even think about it...my hair just raises up with half conference pride/half rival feeling. Some UGA fan was kind of shell-shocked when I casually Tiger Baited him.

Just the other night,I saw some random guy at Bush/Kearny in downtown SF, wearing an LSU hoodie. The restaurant was empty, so I decided to open the door and give him a GEAUX TIGERS! The dude got so excited and started chanting L-S-U, L-S-U.

These 2 women nearly got in an accident trying to get in front of me so that they can show me their LSU license plate cover driving down the 101..since they saw my LSU plate cover.

TRUE DAT.

I've always thought that it would suck to be say a UNC fan. I bet at least 1/2 of the ppl that wear UNC gear are not really fans of UNC. More Jordan fans than anything.

especially during the baseball series with Texas and so may people wearing UT gear didn't even know LSU-Texas were playing for a championship

that comment hit the nail on the head. I've lived in Austin for two years now and the UT fan base sure is a different breed than SEC fans.
