Yeah, Stanek might be the best pitcher we face the rest of the season/postseason. I was thoroughly impressed watching him when we played Arky earlier this season.

This isn't really for this thread, but I found this craziness on the Music Board of all places, and I thought you guys would get a kick out of it, I did.

quote:

The name came from a baseball anecdote. During the 1962 season, New York Mets center fielder Richie Ashburn and Venezuelan shortstop Elio Chacón found themselves colliding in the outfield. When Ashburn went for a catch, he would scream, "I got it! I got it!" only to run into Chacón, who spoke only Spanish. Ashburn learned to yell, "¡Yo la tengo! ¡Yo la tengo!" instead. In a later game, Ashburn happily saw Chacón backing off. He relaxed, positioned himself to catch the ball, and was instead run over by left fielder Frank Thomas, who understood no Spanish and had missed a team meeting that proposed using the words "¡Yo la tengo!" as a way to avoid outfield collisions.[2] After getting up, Thomas asked Ashburn, "What the hell is a Yellow Tango?".

Agreed, it also helps that out lineup has only 5 players who can hit a baseball

Ill say this, ive been saying for a month that Nola is due for a less than stellar outing. I almost hope its today. I would really hate to lose a 1-0 game because our lineup cant hit Stanek and have Nolas poor outing come in the regionals.

maybe Stanek is due for a poor outing. Nola is well rested. Should be a good one.

There was a time earlier this year, for about a 3 week stretch, that any time Bregman, Katz, and Rhymes came up in the order, we were guarnteed to score at least 1 run. I would like to see those days again. Then Mainieri might could afford to keep playing his preferred outfield.

somebody needs to give Eades a prescription for Zoloft, when the dude is on the mound, even when he's doing decent he looks so damn tense and his face is red as shite
