LSUgrad and 357 are IMHO two of the most well informed and they disagree a bit, my take is SEC is way down other than SC so we will be top 5 in conf next year and top 3 in year two, I realize as 357 says we have very little top level talent but transfer portal and vandy, both miss, auburn, bama, Missouri, uf are all equal to our talnet or less and she will out coach them 95% of the time, that's a lot of easy sec wins...and as you both said outside of SC no one is elite next year,

It’s women’s basketball so it can happen pretty quick. She just needs to go get one dominant player and surround her with a few decent ones and boom you have a great women’s college basketball team.

Well, at least you’re good at upvoting all your own posts while you continue to out yourself as an intellectual lightweight. I guess you’ve got that going for you at least...

Im so over the Mulkey talk.
Then don’t click on the threads.
Here’s the deal: LSU hiring a multi NC winning coach in any sport will dominate the board for a while. Not to mention every sport but baseball is in the offseason and the baseball team has been underwhelming outside of this past weekend. Given that it’s a perfect storm of timing, get used to seeing mulkey threads.

9-13 last year. Get a couple good transfers and she can easily have a winning schedule. Add a couple more recruits and transfers the following year and I think she can hang.

LSU women's basketball is getting ready to go on a 12 year run to the top of women's basketball. That is more exciting than anything else going on in sports right now. There will be some national titles. Who would not like this???

By year 2, possibly year 1 if we get the transfers she wants. Basketball is a sport that can have a quick turnaround, especially with transfers.

I have heard in a couple of places that all of the players who are still here are going to stay and play for Mulkey. That isn't to say that they may not leave later or if Mulkey "processes" a few of them...but for now, that is good.
Pointer and Aifuwa are the keys. If Mulkey can find a little bit of talent out there to help them, LSU can be pretty good this year. Pointer is an all SEC point guard and she has done it with almost no help since Mitchell graduated. Aifuwa's best days were when she had Mitchell alongside her to help out.
Pointer and Aifuwa are very good pieces to start with for a first-year coach and if Mulkey can find them some help, they will be good right off the bat.

I know we all rip on Aifuwa at times but I legit think she will improve a lot under this next staff who have historically thrived on developing post players
Cardoso was rumored to be looking at Auburn and UCONN but that would be a gigantic start if Kim were to somehow get her to come here. She would have at least 3 more years on top of it.

Hopefully within 2-3 years, you will start seeing some epic Mulkey v. Staley matchups.
Interesting that we only lost to USC by 4 and 7 points this season in the two games we played them. Maybe Mulkey will be able to turn it around more quickly than most think.
