Don't be surprised when USC loses a stunner in the final game AT UCLA.

This is the correct response. Anyone who thinks we are on USC's level this year is seriously kidding themselves. Unless our QB situation improves substantially, USC is head and shoulders above us this season.
They are better than us this year. And only because of the QB situation. If we have RP, we might be the better team.
With that said, they are not "head and shoulders above us." We can match with them on every position on the field minus QB. Not a huge advantage.
And yes I think they probably would beat us because Sanchez has looked darn good. But it would be no guarantee by any means.

USC hasn't proved anything this year. What OSU? or Virginia?
Fact is .....It's too soon to know anything at this point. I think we are a lot better than we look...

In order to have a true measurement of anything...
both must be measured against the same or very similar guidelines.
USC may very well be better than us ans may be the best team in the country, but how will we really know...other than basing it on guesses.
They have an excellent team, but a great team ????
I can not tell.
The quality of the opponent has a lot to do with how good you look in a game. Please do not put Ohio St. as a great team.
If USC wants to be judged fairly, let them play a fair schedule. If they wanted, they could insist and push through a "Conference Championship"...they do not want to; therefore, how do we know.
Every "Conference Championship" is like playing a bowl game, more intense than a bowl game in some cases.
By not playing a "Conference Championship", they avoid a possible loss by not facing a competent opponent...not the mark of a champion.

USC is awesome this year. They totally manhandled a team that we fell behind 10-0 to in the first quarter, so I know without a doubt they'd crush us. I may be wrong, but I think we'd probably lay an egg against them, much like we did in 79 when they came to Death Valley, and we basically gave them the game, which is a shame, considering how hard we had played throughout it.

Stop being a pussy tigerdup07. Not everyone is going to agree with your pessimistic outlook. I can assure our players aren't afraid of USC, so why are you? Because you obviously are.

Like we did in 79 ?
WTF do you know.
They won the game 17 - 12 and the only scored in the last minute because of a refs call.

Excuse me but which team are you talking about. Who have we played in 2008 that they have played?
...also....falling behind is not losing the game...if you are talking about "last years" Ohio State that did not even have Wells in their line up this yr.
BTW, the first OS touchdown..
was that not Beany Wells
That comparison does not make any sense.

Yup and we wouldn't have done the exact same thing to them had they been without Beanie Wells like they were for the recent USC game. He was the only thing they had that night.

Haha, I don't think that College Pick 'em can be used for that much leverage. I mean yes you have done very well so far, but not only can that change, but also I highly doubt you are that effective each year with it. Congrats thus far though. I had a "turrible" week last week haha.

Dude, just admit you're a pessimistic pussy and you're afraid of USC. Do you think USC would have been afraid to play us last year?? The answer is no. The type of players LSU and USC have on their teams are not losers and aren't afraid to play anyone, anytime, anywhere....and they go into the game to win....unlike you.
Posted on 9/19/08 at 9:41 am to MardiGrasCajun
I just want to make the point that USC does this every year. They start out hot, look good, get hyped up as the best, then trail off towards the end, and lose to somebody terrible. This is commonplace, they will prolly lay an egg later on. So no need to get worked up about it.

Hahaha. Wow, I'm new to the board so I don't know whatever riff there is between you two, but that last comment had me laughing.

"In the last five years, the Trojans have a .955 non-conference record. And unlike LSU, they haven’t fattened up on cupcakes in that time. In that time, they have played Virginia Tech, Michigan, Fresno State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Illinois and handled them all."
