Could have kept it 10 series with 5 rotating in/out every year. Would have been much more consistent year over year.
This makes the most sense. And is really easy to do with 15 opponents and 10 SEC series.
16 teams in the SEC. Your 15 opponents are put into groups of 5.
Group A, B, and C
Year 1: Play A and B
Year 2: Play B and C
Year 3: Play C and A
You play everyone every 2 out of 3 years. That makes it easy to play at home against a team one season and on the road the next season. No long breaks between opponents.
Sad when message boards are smarter than people in charge but you see that pretty often.

Alabama 49 wins, Auburn 37 wins, 1 tie Alabama 58 wins, Tennessee 39 wins, 7 ties. Those are Bama's other two permanents. What's interesting about the Bama-UT series: Bama just won 15 in a row, before Tennessee won this year. So prior to Tennessee's collapse, they had pulled to within 44-38.
Half of Tennessee’s wins were before 1961 when Bear Bryant firmly established the program at Bama. 10 of those wins were in years LSU didn’t even play Alabama. Since 1964 when LSU started playing Bama annually both LSU and Tennessee have 19 wins over Alabama.
Auburn is only a little better in that time with 23 wins. 7 of their wins were before 1905 and another 6 were 1949-1958. Again, much of their superior record comes from the pre-Bear era.

Option A: 5 permanent opponents 5 rotating opponents play ever rotating opponent 2 series ever 4 years
Option B: 10 rotating opponents play ever opponent 2 series ever 3 years
Option B is better than option A because some teams will have harder permanent opponents than other and strength of schedule would be harder
Option B: 10 rotating opponents play ever opponent 2 series ever 3 years
Option B is better than option A because some teams will have harder permanent opponents than other and strength of schedule would be harder
