There were a couple times Kelly was brought up prior to the hire and the instant response was dinosaur who can’t recruit and can’t win a big game.

That also was how many including myself felt after initially seeing the hire.

Sure everyone talked themselves into it after 24-48 hours but the response on this board was mixed at best.

If we were having this conversation now about Riley then you’d be correct he was overwhelmingly seen as a sure thing.

Kelly there were plenty of red flags to not give a ten year 100million dollars to

Laughable criteria

It’s certainly not laughable to question giving 10 years and 100 million to an older guy who has never recruited our footprint. That in addition to questions about his offensive system, age and work ethic particularly in regards to recruiting.

You give 10 years 100 million it better be a sure thing.

Those were legitimate questions that were stated at the time of the hire.

problem is that Woody didn't answer to us peons, he was well liked and respected by the big money boosters, and just because they have they big bucks and control the purse strings doesn't mean they necessarily know what's best for LSU/LSU football((see Jones, Jerry )

Scott, why would you give a man who had no HC experience and might have accepted a million a year pay, he wanted the job so bad. Pay him bonuses on performance and zero buyout. These ADs let agents walk all over them. No need for the buyout.

Where did you hear this from?? I find it hard to believe when I actually talked with Scott the week before Johnson was announced. He sounded pretty confident about JJ. Didn't mention any other coaches. Straight from his mouth. But some of you want to post false narratives to make it look like his last option was JJ because you read it somewhere on tigerdroppings.

It’s about time someone noticed. Woodward was a clown show and when I pointed it out over the years I was attacked by the retards on the Rant.

Woodward is a woke, leftist clown.

I know for certain that Sully was his number one until his dirty laundry was aired. I think they were interested in O'Connor, but he wasn't willing to leave UVA at that point.
