Hopefully, this is a GOOD thing. If I recall, the offense looked pretty good last Spring, only to find out it was because the defensive schemes sucked.

Maybe they still do suck....I've read an article the other day where the media said they could Chavis screaming and fussing at players in a closed to public practice....WOW...

I would imagine that it takes more than a week to install a new defensive scheme.

Considering how bad they sucked last year, it's not like they don't have a long way to go.

I dont know who will start, but I'll trust Crowton to make that decision over the likes of Doc and the other self-proclaimed know-it-alls on this site.

then we could see if lee has the balls

Thats the thing I saw that Lee lacked. He showed the balls to face the fans, but not sure he was mentally up to facing the physical SEC play (especially after he watched Hatch wobble off the field).

He's got the best skill set, he's now got to get tougher.

Scott didnt really say much of this.
Yes, he actually did.

Scott did say there was competition for the starting job between the two.
How is that any different than what I said?

don't read too much into which side outplays the other. I remember in 03 watching scrimmages and the O could not gain a yard on the D. thoguht the O was really bad. It wasn't, just the D was that good.

Also says that Lee has thrown the ball well, but Jefferson is clearly a leader and is handling himself very well on the field

Well, considering these are CS exact words, I'm not sure where you got your 1st quote from???
quote:

(About QBs) I mean they just competing like I said before. You can’t really tell the true starter. I mean we’ve only been live bullet for one day. You can’t really tell we get deeper in the spring. You see live reps, and see guys in the face, and see guys coming after them, they start to separate themselves

(about JJ)He’s always been like that first time he stepped on the field he was the same way. He hasn’t changed. He’s kept that up. Even tho he’s a kid. Being an average freshman, I know he’s more mature that I was at that age. I be honest with you, sir

(about practice) It went pretty well. We had a few good plays. We went 1st and 10, trying to get 8s. We got 8, 4 out of 5 times. It went pretty well.

(about the D) We kinda got after them today. But we expect them to come back Saturday

Anything said about JLee throwing better, and JJ being a better leader was from the reporter, not Scott.

His ability to move the team up the field very quickly, yet he appears afraid to run, or even take a hit.

True, but when you're 6'6", it makes for less backsplash.

JJ has shown both the abiity to move up the field and take hits. There is really no evidence to suggest JL has a better skill set. Good backup.

Jarrett Lee 116.9 rating 53.2% comp 170.3 ypg 101 sack yds -8.8 rush avg 161.5 tot ypg
Jo. Jefferson 112.9 rating 49.3% comp 59.9 ypg 77 sack yds 19.1 rush avg 79 tot ypg

And when you factor in the opponent level, JLee has better numbers vs. better teams.

He's also being called the mose improved player in the spring. I think thats enough evidence to back up my assertion.

The team that allows the fewest points wins.

I luvs me some defense.

If winning were easy, everyone would do it.

I like how you left the TD/INTs out of this. Can we also get a comparison of the the picks and pick six's? Useless, incomplete stats.
