Yes he was. He was fired before Signing Day but he was the coach during Joe’s initial recruitment.
He was fired in November of 2014, 2 months before signing day. Certainly Riley could have reached out in early December: Nebraska legacy etc.
Regardless, Frost didn’t even consider him when he had an opportunity.

To put Burrow’s recruitment on Riley over Pelini is hilarious.
Please, give us your thoughts on Akers and Etienne. I’m sure the consistency will be overwhelming

Coach O, thankfully, DID take a chance with Joe. Bringing Joe in, DID create short term problems. Coach O had enough foresight and faith in Joe that other coaches, like Frost didn
So what you are saying is you would have no problem with LSU brining in D’Eriq King next year to start?

Actually my post was really about Frost passing on the opportunity. I am not sure how this turned into something about Pelini and Riley. I don't think the ship had sailed on Burrow when Riley was named head coach. Don't really care. I am just really glad Frost went with Martinez.
The Akers and Etienne discussion is faintly similar.
Go ahead, douche away.

Sorry your weird little thread generated discussion that you weren’t prepared for

None whatsoever. It’s the same thing as recruiting Zach Evans, whom we are most likely going to get. We signed 2 extremely highly ranked RB’s last year who didn’t play much behind CEH this year, and think next year is theirs. Maybe, Maybe not.
I always want LSU going after the very best prospects. Great Competition brings out the best in everyone. No one is entitled to a starting job regardless of how long they’ve been here and sacrificed.
Go get the Best & The Best Play. Period.

Many football coaches are the worst at evaluating talent; thank you Coach Frost.

So glad that you were so short sighted and arrogant
Geezus, the guy looked at Burrow and thought he was not worth upsetting the QB room of his team. He was surely wrong, but why are you trying to demonize him? What is arrogant about that?
Is Orgeron arrogant when he processes recruits? I find the vicarious triumphalism, that’s all over this board, to be sickening and a sign of emotionally unhealthy people.
