Cook getting mugged but Scotlandville remembers last year and playing really good early. Walker has to be able to shoot and make from outside

I'm really ignorant to College B Ball recruiting but why is Beekman getting out of Baton Rouge ? Did Wade not want him ?

He def had an LSU offer. I would chalk it up to a few things. #1 Reece is not from Louisiana and therefore obviously doesnt have the same connection to LSU despite living here the past few years. #2 I think Reece fashions himself to be a 2 year college player instead of 4 year guy. It isnt clear if JaVonte will be gone anytime soon so going UVa gives him a better opportunity at warly playing time. Also, he committed this summer and of course UVA won the natty last season so I'm sure Coach Bennett sold him on a winning culture. Reece has won a state title every year at Scotlandville and his AAU team was also phenomenal (they went undefeated in 2018) so I think he likes the idea of doing so in college. And lastly his playstyle does kind of fit what UVA does. UVA plays kind of a slower paced grind and grit game that emphasizes defense.

Oh and last but not least Beekman and Cook are actually good friends and I think Beekman knew Cook would end up at LSU.

32-19 at half. Walker had a decent run in the 2nd and then went cold again.

People don’t realize how good scotlandville is
Jalen had a bad night but, scotlandville travels the country and plays elite competition all year. Keeping the game respectable is a win for walker

Against that same team last year, Jalen poured in 38 points and couldn’t miss and Walker beat them at Scotlandville. Sometimes you have a bad game. I have watched Jalen play for the last 3 years and he is very good. Lot of pressure on he and Brian to perform top notch every night due to lack of experience from other 3 guys.

Difference in game

Scotlandville 5 Seniors

Walker 1 Senior, 1 Junior, 1 Soph, 2 Frosh

Number 11 for Scotlandville has a great shot

Jalen had a bad shooting night & Scotlandville challenged every single shot.

He won’t be relied on at LSU to drive to the basket or shoot a three every single possession to keep his team in the game.

Not to mention Horton is 6’5 and a division one athlete himself
