Gray tiger, I am beyond convinced O is gonna run us straight into the ground, and I can also assure you that I want to be absolutely wrong about that because I bleed p&g!!! Nothing would make me happier than 15-0 with a natty under the cookie monster this year. When it comes to LSU fb and men's hoops, I follow closely enough to have informed opinions. I ALWAYS want those 2 to succeed regardless of my pre conceived notions.

Not comparable. O already won 6 SEC games. Not done in several years. Love what wade is doing. I am going to see him in person tomorrow AM. Wade has a schedule that could easily be 6 and 6 or 7 and 5 preseason. Probably go 11 and 7. Maybe 12 and 6 in the SEC. so might not get in Tournament again.
Having said all of this. I think we will win 20 games and get in the tournament. The SEC is much better than it was three years ago. Our schedule is much tougher. Our team will be very very young at key spots.

The comparison is valid only in that there has been a big talent and attitude upgrade. Both teams have very difficult schedules and very high expectations. There is a very vocal negative minority that will not stop trashing Orgeron. They trashed Miles. They are hurting recruiting and our football program.
For Wade not enough people care or pay attention. He has done very very well in one year. We have not won anything. But we have made great progress. Very young team. Counting on new playmakers. Just like football is counting on young people on defense and Burrow to be difference makers.
This is why they play the games on the field and not on internet chat boards.

I didn't know JJ could coach basketball.

If he goes 6-6 or 7-5 vs. his OOC schedule, then there are some SERIOUS issues. They literally play only one true road game, and that's vs. a team who lost significant talent from last year's team (Houston). They have no business losing ANY OOC games at home. The neutral site games are against College of Charleston (likely FSU then perhaps Villanova) and St. Mary's. FSU should be a solid team. St. Mary's is always a solid program, but they also lost a lot from last season.
At WORST it's possible they lose 3-4 OOC games. Anything more is a disaster.
In today's college basketball, with great players routinely staying only 1-2 years in college, this program is not "rebuilding". It's REBUILT! Barring some crazy set of circumstances, if Wade can't make the NCAAT with this team then there is a BIG problem. I think Wade would be the first to tell you that. This is the most talented team he's ever fielded as a head coach. Hell, it may be the most talented team he's ever coached in any capacity.
But back to the OP. I agree wholeheartedly. Wade came in with big goals and a very specific plan on how to reach them. There isn't a single detail that goes unnoticed. The guy is absolutely maniacal when it comes to detail and he doesn't accept his players not meeting his requirements.
O is a walking platitude bot. He has big goals and a big picture view of his program, but I don't think he has the attention to detail necessary to implement a specific plan to reach those goals. In pre and post game press conferences Wade is rattling off stats and percentages, even to a minute degree, of just about every player (both his own and the opponents). There is a reason he has focused on that detail.
O on the other hand is telling reporters he's responsible for every play that is called by LSU and then immediately thereafter says he didn't know his 3rd string RB was going to get the ball on the first play of the game.

How does one come to the conclusion of managing to only go 6-6 or 7-5 in an OOC schedule that legitimately has potentially 2-3 tough opponents on it; but then turning around and predicting 11-7 or 12-6 in the SEC (which would have been good enough for 3rd place last year)? Does not make sense at all. As Alt said, this team should be no worse than 9-3 or 8-4 OOC, and I think they end up losing 2 games at most OOC to go 10-2 and then 12-6 in conference for a total of 22 wins (21 at worst) on the season. Assuming no major losses to injury or suspension of course.

It's the youth/inexperience that generally prevents teams from going far in the tournament, not from necessarily getting there. Lacking talent and/or coaching prevents a team from getting there. But this team has both talent and coaching; so getting into the tournament should not be an issue.

That's kind of my perception as well. He's adopted the Slippery Pete Carroll Kumbaya slogans (tell the truth Monday) and that general type of Tony Robbins stuff but for me that works for a slickster like Pete that's just not who O is...he's forcing that. IMHO anyway.

and the same person hired both...well hope he is gone. Problem is FKA needs to go as well.
