Just wondering...has there ever been any other LSU coach that began his career at LSU by inheriting a program nearly as in good shape as LSU was when it fell into his lap?

Just wondering if Saban had not preceded him and built up the program to such an extent, if LSU would have even won a MNC in 2007 despite Les Miles?

lol.

if you can't see the difference in attention to detail and discipline on the field between guys like Flynn, Bowe, and Doucet and Jefferson, Lee, and Tolliver I feel bad for you.

and everyone here knows I'm not a Flynn fan even. Complete Russelltard

2 were sophs and one a jr when Miles took over, so you are saying that 3 - 4 years under Miles and all their discipline was learned from 1 year under saban

all were offensive players with Jimbo Fisher for 2 years even with Miles. I think some of those guys still had a sense of work ethic instilled in them by Saban and the close connection with the former OC to Saban caused a lot of that to be maintained through the 05-07 seasons. None of these guys on the team now have worked with Saban/Fisher at all.

I was a student at LSU 85 - 89, and Bill Arnsparger had built up a very good program to which Mike Archer Inherited and ran in the ground, were you even born then?

okay, so you were 7 years old, so I'm sure you were greatly in tune with the football program at that time..........

this is the key, Jimbo was a consistent presence, I don't give saban any credit for their development, that would be plain stupid, he didn't coach them up.

You mean as Miles is doing today? If you believe the program Archer inherited was anywhere near the program Miles inherited when he took over, I have a bridge I need to sell you.

He gives the national press and everyone else in the country something to talk about and laugh at during the season.
