Crowton let go Monday means Miles takes more responsibility for the losses soon to come...meaning if Miles wants his buyout that bad he will do it for sure.

We finally cracked the top 100 (91) in offense yesterday and that's because of Lee. Do you really think that keeping Crowton and aiming for another bottom 20 ranking in offense is better than getting rid of him and promoting BG?

It seems obvious that Miles brought Crowton back this year simply to have a scapegoat to fire at the end of the year if the season got ugly.

I don't understand why people keep using this logic.

Why would a head coach purposefully not hire a better coordinator in the offseason just to have a lousy one to use as a scapegoat the following year?

Wouldn't it make more sense to hire a solid coordinator (like Chavis) and not allow your job to fall into jeopardy in the first place?

Les won't fire anyone in mid-season, he will make excuses for Crowton all year just like he did with Maleveto. Les would rather see his team lose games than fire a coach in mid season. His priorities are all fricked up.

Well, The person that replaces Crowton doesn't really have to light it up to impress. Although they will be following a legend of sorts...

I think it would be good. It's not like the offense is going to get worse with someone else coaching it.

I am re-stating a resounding "GOOD!"

I have thought this out and it makes sense for damage control on a number of fronts.
