The defense gave up almost 600 yards of offense and 29 points. That does not qualify as a good game.
Yes, that absolutely qualifies as a good game

name one time i said the offense was good. This is about LSU having a championship defense and in 2 out of our last 4 losses they allowed the opposing offense to tie/win the game...i'm sorry in those situations great defenses usually win the game
Really? They do? So 2011 LSU defense was crap then?

We held them to 20 points. Is itnour defense’s greatest performance? Not. It it an amazing performance? No
Is it bad? No
It’s only “cost us the game bad” if you need your defense to pretext 19 points of offense.
Its not great but shits it’s not bad
Kentucky, UGA and Missouri scored over 20 points on Florida. They’re Defense is not that good. So did Vandy and South Carolina.
Only 20 teams average 20 or less PPG in defense
122 teams average over 19 points of offense
Florida Averaged 20.4 Opp PPG we were on of their better games on defense.
We’re in the grouping with Idaho, FSU, Miss st, Charleston southern and Colorado State.

Where was the offense in the Bama game? Why couldn’t the offense get 1first down to end the A8M game? Why did the offense turn the ball over to Florida so much?
We can find faults in some games against the defense but as a whole, they played very well.
This “but the defense didn’t” shite that is being spouted here is nothing more that bullshite Ponamski propaganda. Nobody with any level of intelligence is buying it.

Answer me this.
Do you believe that an efficient offense that can move the ball well and extend plays helps the defense?

Keep in mind, even though our offense sucked, they rarely allowed opponents short fields putting the defense at a disadvantage and our special teams helped out the defense also with field position.
In two of LSU's three losses the offense and/or special teams turned the ball over inside of LSU's 20.

People also act like LSU didn’t get the ball 2 more times after aflorda scores (and a 3rd time because we threw a pick 6)
LSU has almost an entire quarter to get a field goal
LSU has almost an entire quarter to get a field goal

but for the year our offense/ST gave the defense great field position...do you disagree?
Championship defenses usually win games when given the opportunity. Before the season started everyone thought this defense would be one of our best and they simply weren't.

answer me this...
do you believe great defenses win games when they are put in position to do so?

Sure but “one of our best” is such a relative term.
Our worst defenses in the last 10+ years we’re still nationally pretty good.
This defense is a top 15 scoring defense in regulation.
I dont Know what team has won a NC recently leaning solely on their defense.

They're 14th in the nation in efficiency, which takes into account things like field position and game changing plays.
Don't tell Trout that though. He won't like it.

It means when you look at all factors, and not just 1 or 2, the defense was ranked 14th in the nation.
S&P+ efficiency rating does that.

I thought they would be good enough to shut down UF and A&M

Pretty much everyone outside of this website. You're taking the fact that you bought into the hype machine created here and applying that to "everyone".
I don't think I should need to tell you how ignorant that is.
