Punt- loss by offense

Td- win for the offense
Punt- loss for the offense * needed a single 1st down to seal the win
defense

* held a&m to its 2nd lowest yardage total all year and lowest amount of 1st downs all year
The defense did its job and more in regulation.

Link to me saying those words? It was one of their worst games. The defense still did more than enough to win that game, in spite of the offense essentially giving UF two TDs.
The defense was undeniably great this year. For the most part, the offense did not play complimentary football, so the defense looked worse.

so you're saying we didn't have enough talent or coaching to be great defensively?
Great db's and a great lb with some good dlinemen and a top notch DC makes thinking this couldve been one of our best defenses crazy to you?

He's not playing devil's advocate. He's butthurt because he was dumb enough to buy into a rant created narrative that this was going to be the best LSU defense ever.

I was wrong, it's as simple as that.
That's the difference between you and I. I came into the season thinking the depth had improved on both sides of the ball. After 4 or 5 games it became apparent that wasn't the case.
Instead of looking at the results, you're clinging to the rant created narrative that we had studs up and down the roster.

Does it say great anywhere in there? I said it would be very good.
Tyler Shelvin and Ed Alexander where supposed to be contributing factors, they were both nonexistent.
Chaisson was supposed to be our stud with Divinity on the opposite side while Anthony and Thornton were providing depth. Chaission got hurt and Anthony/Thornton were non-factors. Jacoby Stevens had to be moved to linebacker and almost immediately saw minutes.
Vincent was supposed to be the 3rd corner. Instead, he was moved to safety and LSU's 3rd corner rotated between a Freshman and Stanford linebacker.

I think we have more talent than you're willing to admit. Better talent and coaching than where we finished in the stats. Our DC hates blitzing, if our front 4 doesn't have a great pass rusher offenses can move the ball on that kind of scheme. With great db's he should be more aggressive in my opinion. Look up how often he blitzes...it's low
