With Chip as Bama OC, the tantrums and arguments between him and Saban would be worth it. That would would be a mini series by itself.

Saban's personality is finally starting to negatively affect his program with staff turnover. Unfortunately it doesnt even matter now because the gap is so wide.

yea, that's it. Nobody wants to work for the greatest college coach in history with 5* recruits and national championships.

Kiffin left because he wanted to be a HC, and Sark left because he got an NFL OC gig on a Super Bowl team that will be loaded on offense again next year.

But you're probably right, nobody want to work for Saban because he's a meanie.

Exactly. The man may not be a conversationlist, but he knows football. Heck the NFL just hired an OC with a record of 0-1, for a team that just played in the Super Bowl.

Two things here. No way Canada is leaving LSU for Alabama and no way in hell Saban would run a Chip Kelly offense, zero chances!

It's starting to get funny with his constant OC's leaving.

"the relationship between Saban and Sarkisian deteriorated amid disagreements in “system philosophy”

It doesn't say anywhere in your link that Sark left because Saban was an a-hole.

Many successful leaders are jerks on a personal level. Steve Jobs was a jerk, hell, even Bill Gates, who looks like a sweet little professor, was notorious for his screaming and berating underlings. Many great military leaders are hard-asses, as well as many CEOs. But people line up to work for them, because they are extremely successful.

Oh, and coaches too.

Constant?

2008-11: Jim McElwain - left for HC job
2012-13: Doug Nussmeier - left to be OC at Michigan
2014-16: Lane Kiffin - left for HC job
2017: Steve Sarkisian - left for OC at NFL Super Bowl team

And don't forget Kirby Smart was Saban's DC for a decade until he left for... wait for it: a HC job at Georgia.

Saban hires great assistants, and they're going to be in demand after a few years. His "recent" OCs leaving have been for HC and NFL jobs (with the exception of Nussmeier who was pushed out, I believe.

I wonder what the "system philosophy" differences were. Was Sark going to change the offense from last season? They had a true freshman take their team to the national championship. Regardless of how inept Hurts is throwing the ball, what really is there to philosophically disagree on?

"This year I want to run a pro-style system with J.Hurts."

The "philosophical differences" excuse is pure BS. Anyone who has ever known an alcoholic should know they all have control problems. Here is Sark, a proven OC with head coaching experience, an alcoholic control freak, getting dictated to by Saban. Yea, I bet there is some conflict but it isn't over offensive "system philosophies."

This has to be good for LSU.

Bama will have an inferior OC, one scraped from the bottom of the barrel.

The streak is a little bit more in jeopardy than before.
