How many band geeks played every note with gusto? How many failed to march with gusto? How many of y'all got up early to run several miles in order to march with zeal?

Yet,you crucify a former Tiger!

I would say you're exaggerating. Big Sam was 5th in the SEC in TFL last year, only behind guys like Jarvis Jones, Clowney, Demontre Moore and our very own Kevin Minter.

He also posted a season high in tackles (5) in his last game as an LSU Tiger. In 2011, he only bested that number a few times, and only bested it by 1 tackle.

Great guy who stopped caring and let down himself and the fans.

Let down the fans by leading the team in sacks and coming in second to Minter in tackles for loss?

What the hell is wrong with some people? Sam didn't let anyone down. He played well last year. He played better in the second half of the season than in the first half, and he played better against better competition.

Seriously, some LSU fans need a reality check.

FIFY. It's a perpetual discognizance when LSU fans refuse to evaluate something in real terms or on a comparative basis with other programs. That and the capacity to shite on past players that actually performed well @ LSU is often amazing.

Nothing like seeing LSU fans tear down one of their own.

i thought jmarc was fine, it was after his 1st season he lost it.

but, tm7, mo, taylor, pp7, sheppard, riley, brooks, doucet, bowe, clayton, ridley, williams, williams, i could go on. holiday, webster, steltz, i mean just start naming them. it has everything to do with the individual, not the school.

I don't understand how people constantly complain about Sam underperforming in 2012 yet say nothing about Mingo.

Mingo was drafted top 10. They're mad because Sam didn't go 1st round. They blame it on his comment.

And you know its sad! He went from top 10 pick, to 3rd round, to losing millions, now this! Pathetic!

bullshite. He could have never been a top 10 pick. NFL values measurables for that high of a pick. Montgomery was never going to run a 4.5-4.6 forty yard dash. He was always a 4.8-4.9 guy with a motor that made up for his lack of speed. DaMontre Moore also demolished the SEC and still dropped from potential top 5 pick to 3rd round because of his combine numbers. Montgomery was just being honest. So what he took plays of during Idaho Shitty and those teams. He played his all during SEC games and finished top 5-10 in sacks and TFL.

Even Gark Kubiak said that what he loved most about watching Montgomery play in college was his motor.

That doesn't explain all the dumb "he let the team and fans down" kind comments.

Just an excuse. Most won't admit that his draft status was a big reason for the hate. They were expecting to brag about 3-4 potential 1st round picks. If he would have gone in the 1st round most people wouldn't be bitching. It's childish and stupid but people get mad at shite like that.

"He let the team down" doesn't make sense. Nobody would have known if he didn't make the comment. Kubiak said that watching his film you would never know he took plays off. It was never even in question by scouts or coaches. Because 90%+ of the time he gave it his all.

I still think his combine numbers were a bigger reason than the comments.

The comment and Sam's general outspoken nature might've dropped him from mid 2nd to mid 3rd. He wasn't a 1st rder.

I'm not one of "those" people, but Kiper had him in the top 5 before the season.

He didn't start the first game or two because of his work ethic last summer

Matt Barkley and Logan Thomas were also in that top 5. Some dude named Johnny Adams from Michigan St. was #14 and he went undrafted.

I hope you are right but that might be tough. At least we know the guys will be more motivated than Sam was last year but Mingo was good!!!

If Sam has a stellar career and makes a name for himself, like I believe will happen, I will definitely remind everyone of this post.
