If Boise State went undefeated this year, they would be in the national championship playing LSU.

If the Oklahoma State kicker put the pull between the goal posts, OSU would be in the national championship playing LSU.

How many would take Boise State, had they gone undefeated this year, over Alabama? Similarly, if OSU had gone undefeated, would they suddenly be a better team than Alabama?

The media and fans have been saying that LSU and Alabama are the two best teams in the country since early October. BSU or OSU going undefeated wouldn't have changed anyone's opinion that either of them could compete with Alabama, yet if either had gone undefeated, they would have been in the national championship - and the media and fans wouldn't be saying "the BCS got it wrong". After all, if the only 2 undefeated teams are in the national championship, how could the BCS have gotten it wrong? Yet, again, no one would take an undefeated BSU or OSU over the second "best" team in the country in Alabama.

That's where the "best two team" argument falls apart.

Point taken. But that is hypothetical. There are
"if's" all over this CFB season including several in T-town on Nov5. However, your argument is why I am in favor of a +1 system. I would despise anything more. I don't ever recall #5 have an argument they should have a shot. Only 4 teams and we can keep the bowl system in tack and that's what makes CFB great.

Bama > OSU

OSU's resume > bama's resume

These 2 don't contradict each other

Not in our new reality they don't. Apparently Alabama is just that good. They should be in LSU's place instead of 2nd place. This is our new reality according to Gumpland master Nick the little weasel.

+ 1 is the way to go, been sayin it all along. They can keep their precious Bowl system in tact. Just add the + 1 after the top 4 square off in their respective Bowls!

Correct.

On that note, we know the Alabama kicks failed to reach the goal line

People keep saying the 2 best teams..

Because I have great respect for Alabama, I would have to say I agree.

BUT, since Alabama didn't play OSU this year, we have no idea, we can only speculate...

since alabama played LSU at home and lost, we have head to head results in the books.

with no play off, no plus one, it still blows my mind that Alabama gets a rematch...

It's called a National Championship...we have 119 teams...and we play about 13 or 14 games max...

Head to head results should be huge, should they not?

It should be that LSU earned the right to represent the SEC in the MNC game, and Alabama should be in the Sugar Bowl playing Michigan...

Bama > Okie St

Be honest, how many more Bama games did your eyeballs see compared to Okie St games?

I hate when voters said they're using the eyeball test when most of them probably watched Okie St 2 or 3 times at most but saw Bama play 7 or 8 times.

you right on that one, Alabama and Saban duped everyone into thinking they deserved a second shot because thy played LSU close and lost by a FG even though the game was in their backyard with them having all the advantages. You lose, you stay at home simple as that, but Saban holds a lot of power with media, especially ESPN where they continually hype him up. I watched them interview him yesterday, and you would swear it is them that won the SEC and are the consensus No. 1 team the way they hype them all the time!

Let it go and enjoy the guaranteed AP National Championship, as well as the AL and MS state championships. Oh, and the sec championship too.

DEG, there will be no AP championship if we lose unless LSU is clearly the better team and loses on a fluke. Bama will be voted #1 as they should be.

Yeah, and we had two losses. You could have these arguments all day. But, yes...we had to sit and wait for others to lose and it all fell the right way for us. We didn't bitch about the process in place back then.

What is wrong with some of you? This is an awesome opportunity to beat bama twice in one year! Quit being pansies and act like we have the best team in the country.
