check out speedy's frequent thread on miles' numbers at lsu. THAT IS FACT. i am not a "pumper". i address the facts of miles' win percentage, wins against ranked teams, championships and compare that to other coaches in the history of the sec. the number of coaches better than miles in those regards is a very, very short list.

Yes but when shep is in the back field, you know he isnt gonna stay into block. Shep wasnt this wasted talent at lsu. It's not like he couldve been Percy Harvin. We've had multiple players have good stats at lsu,SHEP was never one of them for 4 years.
This entire conversation is a way to bash the coaches

You can't post positive facts about Miles' tenure. I stated in another thread that Miles has the best ooc win% in sec history and he said, " yeah but some were cupcakes so dont suck his dick too hard".
As if every coach in sec history didnt play cupcake ooc games.

I didn't know it was Les's job to make sure that players got to the NFL. And that he should make sure they play the position that gives them the best chance to get there. Always thought it was to put them where they did our team the most good.

It is absolutely part of his job to put his players in a position to succeed at the next level if that is what they want to do.

Any coach would tell you that

Shep's biggest deterrents to having more success at LSU were:

1) Crowton leaving
2) Jordan's horrendous accuracy, particularly in 2010

Crowton loved him some WR screens, and that's where he mostly used Shep once he was almost exclusively a WR. ppl forget that Shep was tied for 2nd in catches (he had 33) in 2010, and a lot of those were on shorter passes. but Jordan would hardly give him good passes to work with, so even though he caught passes, it was often hard to do much with them afterward.

not to absolve Shep of any responsibility, and I wasn't a big Crowton guy, but that's what I think really kind of set him back.

We haven't had a wr as physically impressive as Bowe. He was a beast.

You're i dick rider! Here are plenty reasons he would have been know or scouted more at the pro camps.

Saban, Meyer, Mullen, Sweeney, Oregon, WVU....

So the coach's job is to prepare players for the NFL and not to win games? I realize you can do both but if a player is better for us at one position and the NFL at another which should determine where he plays? Les's job first and always foremost is to put players where we will win the most games. Shepard didn't get enough touches once he went to wide receiver. He also should have been given a chance to pass once in a while. There is no way he could have been worse than Jordan Jefferson.

Shepard has a God given talent, that clm under utilized.

How can a player so explosive in the nfl, only touch the ball maybe a couple times a game in college?

He was never a college QB to begin with. Simple as that.

He's an explosive ST player, and he was an explosive offensive player with LSU.

Shepard had 104 carries during his LSU career. Let's put a 50-carry minimum on this -- name a LSU player who had a higher YPC during their career.

He did have good stats with LSU, alter.

He didn't have huge totals because he didn't get as many opportunities as other players.
