21 Rush Attempts 168 yards 7.2 a carry 2 td
10 receptions 78 yards 7.8 a catch 1 td
I honestly just feel bad for the kid. He obviously is talented enough to probably take most the snaps on the majority of Division 1 football teams out there and we cant find a way to have him touch the ball 10 times a game. I understand we have talent all over the field but this kid is something special. I know I am saying whats been said hundreds of times but wish I didnt have to.

We are missing out on a once-in-a-lifetime athlete b/c we have a dime a dozen coach.

Yet he is getting 4 carries a game.

He's, BY FAR, the most misused weapon in the history of college football. There's just now logical explanation as to why he isn't touching the ball 15-20 times a game. frick you Les.

total 31 touches
at least what, 5 drops? maybe as many as 10
averages about 8 a game.
move along folks, nothing to see here.

Agreed. Those attempts and catches should be doubled at least.(He does have a few dropped passes though) Several times when he's not been given the ball on the read option you could almost see the defense sigh in relief as they head for JJ.
Posted on 10/6/10 at 3:11 pm to RANDY44
he drops too many balls to be jj's primariry target. also, on 3 of those runs, any weapon on offense could have broke those end arounds for td. it was the blocking of the wideouts that deserved the credit.
although i am glad that r.s. is a member of the tigers, i don't see what everyone's infatuation with him is.

A coach would rather run a bottom of the barrel offense than fit the offense to his personnel and you defend that.

The dude really has had at least 5 drops that would probably add up to at least 100 more yards. I agree he's being misused terrible but it's hard to trust him to catch balls in crucial situations. Also, He can't run in between the tackles. He hada 50 yarder against UNC and a 40 yarder against Vandy. All we do is run sweeps with him because he has to go to the outside.
I love Shep as much as anyone and think he is a stud on and off the field, but it's not all the coaches fault. Yes, the coaches need to make some creative plays for him to get the ball in successful situations, but right now he's pretty limited on things he can do. Run outside or bubble screen are pretty much what he's limited to.

If you are for running the wildcat 10-20 times per game, that is the only way RS gets that many carries. You find another offense where he fits and report to Les. Till then just take it as it is, a bad situation for the kid.

He is not a WR. He needs to play RB/Wildcat QB. we would be better off with a real WR playing the slot. He has terrible hands and never catches anything over 8 yards.

guava jelly. u commented on his size. did u see the RB for the new england patriots the on monday night? danny woodhead is 5'7. size does matter, but not when you have a will to succeed and a must! if he was our starting RB, i think he would have better numbers.

My main point was that I felt bad for the kid becus if he had the ball in his hands every snap ( as he wouold in a offense like at Michigans) theres no doubt in my mind he changes the complexity of the game and makes things happen.

Rich Rod offense.
Pat White was an average throwing QB at best. I highly doubt after 2 years of college (while still practicing at QB) that RS would be an inferior passer to Pat White
Denard Robinson is a freak so its unfair to compare the two, but I doubt DR would thrive in any other offense besides a RR type. This is pretty much whats happpening to RS but in the opposite direction.

obviously he doesn't have a complete grasp of Less Miles' playbook and until then limited touches for him.

So you're just defending their stubborn usage of a poor scheme b/c they INTEND it to work, even though it never does?

Why not? I'd think that most coaches would try to adjust to having a shitty offense, and that would probably be one of the adjustments they would try if they had similar weapons. Not good old Les, though.

I would, but Les doesn't think fans are worth being honest with, much less listening to.

i think he would have better numbers.
