dude you need to do your homework, they already have exactly that scheduled with TCU.

Dude I was replying to the statement of wanting Houston exposure. That is why I said play TCU in Houston. Still get the exposure but a better opponent IMHO. We signed Tulane for 10 years it is possible to add TCU for a few more.

Tulane is a CUSA opponent. I don't see the upgrade.

Tulane has been to one bowl game this decade and that was '02, one of their only 2 winning seasons this decade as well...Houston has been to 5 bowl games this decade alone including being CUSA Champs in '06...

This is awesome because I will be moving back to Houston soon. Can't wait to watch LSU at Reliant. There are more than enough LSU alumni in Houston to fill the stadium. Plus, it's a short drive from LA.

People who think this isn't an upgrade from playing Tulane are retarded. Nevermind the Houston exposure (recruits, alumni, market PR), UofH is an exciting program (pass happy offense) with talented players. They're actually capable of pulling an upset.

Definitely an upgrade over Tulane...great move for multiple reasons including the huge alumni base there.

The Longhorns (and Aggies) simply do not want the Tigers playing in Texas: Talent Geographically

Throw a big east team in our mix. South Florida, cincinatti, louisville, etc... As much press as these teams have been getting... Although USF did go to Auburn and put it on 'em...

That would be amazing!! I graduate (hopefully) in may and I am applying for jobs in Dallas, Houston, and Baton Rouge.(Friends, Family, LSU) Between the TCU game, UH game, and home games I am garunteed to have a short ride for at least one game.

Why the frick would we travel to HOUSTON to play? We are too big of a program for that nonsense IMO.

Why not? It's not very far and it would give us a little exposure in that area. And they're giving us a 3 for 2, which is pretty good. Also, it will allow us to play another game on turf, which could only help if we wound up playing in the SECCG and/or Sugar Bowl those years. And I think Houston is likely to have a better program than a lot of us think by then.

I don't see how the reasons for playing in Houston are so hard for people to comprehend

We're recruiting that area fine enough without having to move a home game out there.

"fine enough" is not a great place to set the bar imho.

I just said "fine enough." In all actuality we recruit in Texas exceptionally well already.

And yeah I would rather have a game against any cupcake in TS over playing a decent team somewhere else. People may whine and bash the SEC for not playing better teams OOC, but it will never hurt any SEC school. As long as the SEC champion has a record equal to the top few teams in the country, they'll be in the NCG every season.

I know it's been said many times on here, but that statement simply is not true. Trade Va Tech for a cupcake in 07 and we're playing in NOLA a week earlier against Hawaii.
