you guys keep talking about a change in the times (internet etc.). WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE LAW?

OH, IT PROMOTES SELECTIVE PROSECUTION.

REALLY?

I am buying that if these are the allegations, then they need to be settled in court. frick YES, I am buying that.

Why has everyone forgotten that their were 4 people who went for medical treatment? Where are they in the video? I think the cops have video evidence showing a time line when these actions occurred. Doesn't have to show faces. Just events. Besides JJ maintained that he was home asleep. So what if blood is found on his shoes and the thread pattern of his shoe matches damage to the guys face? Why lie to begin with? Oh hid dad, what fight, no man, I been at home sleeping. You go defend him. Good luck!

Unfortunately its not what the law says.

The fight was over when the guy was on the ground incapacitated.

You can't continue to kick a guy then,The intent changes from self defense to an attack on another party.

Who says he was incapacitated? How do you know that? How do you stop fighting because someone falls down? I would go down punching on him if I were already in the fight. It is what anyone does if they would admit to it. Or maybe most of those talking about this have never been in a fight.

I am a LSU fan - I bleed Purple and Gold. And many fans realize that this event is not going to go away until we hear all sides.

No one has an agenda - Everyone just want to hear the truth - We want this process to be fair. From the very beginning - we the fans were getting one side of the story but now as more of the story is released - fans like you want this story to go away. I want to hear the rest of the story.

I hear fans say - "can this story just go away" - that is sad. Because for Jefferson and Johns - it is reality for a long time. And this LSU football team also notices that Jefferson and Johns is not in the locker room. It will not go away for them either.

We want the simple truth - regardless of who is at fault - Can some of the fans handle the truth?

Nailed it...
Maybe the best statement yet to express the feelings of many of the fans here.

Take away the 10% extreme left and 10% extreme right and I think 70% of the fans feel this way.
The other 10% doesnt really care.

Great post!

I was at LSU with Rudy, he was in a management class with me... great baller for Dale and the boys. I would love to hear the whole story truthfully from A-Z, then I could make a decision on this. I think the whole thing has been overblown. At worst, JJ will get probation and community service out of this. IF he is guilty of inflicting the injuries, he should be responsible for the medical bills and probably will be in civil court.

[quote]I agree with him in the sense that its just sad to me how many so called "fans" really wanted to see Jefferson fail so hard...even though most of them were the same ones yelling at Les to put him into the game in 2008 when Lee was struggling. Pathetic
The venomous reactions to one of our own is disgusting!!

this

I would very well hope that the BRPD would go through the trouble they did with this case, if my child (I don't have one, but if I did) was involved in a similar instance. But we all know that's not true, and it is indeed pathetic.

Fifty years ago Jordan Jefferson wouldn't have even been allowed to play football at LSU. Now he was the starting QB for LSU and is getting into barfights and being arrested for the same exact crime as his white teammates. If that isn't equality and progress and I don't know it is. Things change and the world today isn't the world of Billy Cannon, Rudy Macklin or even Matt Mauck for that matter.

I would be ashamed to be an LSU fan if I didn't realize that the "just a bar fight crowd" who post here are a very small minority. Rudy, if you truly said what they have quoted you as, I have lost the respect and affection I had for you as a basketball fan. Those of you who apparently idolize bully's and thugs are in serious need of an attitude adjustment. Get this straight! It doesn't matter who started it. It doesn't matter if the participants were drunk or not. It is wrong to beat someone and cause serious injury! That is so self evident that if you don't already know that you are lost and hopeless!
