How do you know the person seen kicked in the video is the one with felony damage that is being blamed on JJ?
It's been cited as such about 10,000 times during the last week.
Other than that, and the fact the punk doing his best soccerball imitation immediately gets up, I cannot tell a thing from the video.

While Rudy certainly makes some valid points, we all know that how events are handled today have changed from the time he was playing basketball for Dale Brown.

Why?

Technology. When a fight can be filmed with a phone almost everyone carries with them, then the level of accusations moves from "he said, she said" to a televised event.

Also, the coverage of sports and the athletes is microscopic today. Media coverage definitely influences events like these. Good or bad, the newspaper, radio, television, and the internet make it a public relations nightmare that cannot be manipulated like it was "back in the day."

Finally, if a video shows one person kicking another person lying on the ground, what, exactly is Rudy proposing? That everyone just ignore that and pretend it didn't happen.

And then to make the accusation that somehow someone wanted Jefferson out as starting qb, so the anti-Jefferson crowd manipulated events? I don't think so.

If I am a nobody who gets in a bar fight near French Settlement, who cares? But if I am the starting qb of a Top 5 football team preparing for a nationally televised football game that is being showcased to start the season, well, events are simply reported differently, good or bad.

When it rains, people get wet. Some have umbrellas. And some get out of the rain.

shite happens.

Is this the call for the Reverends Jackson and Sharpton to lead the march?

First of all, I'm with you not against you.

Cited? Here? By our legal system? In the eyes of every witness?

I'm making the assumption there is more to it than what can be seen or not seen on that video.

See, this is the only part of the post that makes any sense.
It doesn't matter who is right or wrong if its your life that is going to be screwed up by getting involved. The idiot "victims" will go on with there lives while the players lives are changed forever. I just don't understand why people in general don't get that right and wrong just doesn't enter into it when its your life that is going to be affected by what you do.
It's just a sad fact of life that now Jordon and Josh had to learn the hard way and will be stuck with the consequences.

Doesn't Rudy work for the university? What kind of man code is it to kick a defenseless man when he is down and out? That is not what a real man does. And a real man does not LIE, to his father, his coach and the police. Oh maybe that is his take on what is alright. But please leave the race baiting out of this. If JJ wasn't a pouter and a poor college QB, there wouldn't be any Tiger fans wanting to see someone else, anyone else play.

I respect Rudy and loved what he did on the court, he was and is part of Tiger legacy, But he is very wrong in his last comments. Man code my arse! I have been involved when I was on the ground surrounded by these so called men trying to kick me. He should try it sometime. Maybe he might feel differently.

I thought the RO stated in his report that when he arrived he couldn't find anyone from the fight and was sent to another bar?

"The female also told police she heard the unknown male tell the crowd he had a gun in the pick-up truck"

That's just what I would tell a bunch of guys I'm facing.

I pretty much agree with the Macklin statement. It really is a tragedy if, and only if, it turns out these "victims" started the fight in the first place. For them to want to press charges after they started it.......I really hope they aren't able to live in the state of Louisiana when the dust settles.

If you started a street fight and ended up here, then you have no one but yourself to blame.

Hey Rudy, what about the hundreds of our Tiger athletes that stay away from this type of behavior and stay the straight and narrow for the good of the university and themselves? No credit at all to these youngsters that don't need to get in trouble for recognition?

If you're the QB for a top ten NCAA program you do not have the luxury of getting into bar fights.

JJ knows the world that we live in. He was an idiot for going within fifty feet of a fight.

The fricking Baton Rouge economy rests on this kid's shoulders. He should know that by now.

Who cares about man code in a fight? WTF!?

Can I just go to any business around campus, block the parking lot, then beat the shite out of any drivers that honk their horns at me?

REALLY?

the flaw in all of this supposed JJ "hate" is going back to the Alabama game in 2008 after Hatch was hurt and out for the year, a lot of people wanted to see Jefferson play QB some --before Lee's injury vs Ole Miss.

A lot of fans were thrilled with his performance in the Peach Bowl and excited about his prospects in 2009. But the guy is just so-so with an occassional very good showing. That has nothing to do with him being black.

Sure, there's still an element of the "white" LSU fanbase in 2011 that isn't thrilled with a black QB.But there's also an element of the "black" LSU fanbase that thinks JJ has done nothing wrong except defend himself and thinks the whole issue is "racial".

Anyone who "hates" JJ has issues. But not thinking he's Rohan or Bert Jones doesn't equal hating the guy.
