trent's biggest hit this year came when k.c. ross miller was ruled ineligible. he was the true point guard to run this team. something we haven't had in 10-15 years.
Will this kid be elgible at LSU next year?

And don't give me any "Brady's players" bullshite. Alabama's best player, by far, is a Gottfried holdover.
what is funny is grant recruited stringer, turner, and obryant. he wants the same talent as trent!

What's the deal with Dotson & White? Did Trent screw up big-time by giving these guys a scholarship?

EXCUSES..EXCUSES, GIVE ME A BREAK We all know why Rudy Macklin is taking up for this tj. bama had 15,000 people there at home, when is the last time we were sold out. Patience my arse. These are all bullshite excuses. No talent in his third year is the coaches fault, when you get blown out like we are getting blown out it's on the coach. It's amazing people are still taking up for this guy. He is a west coast guy with west coast ideas that do not work here. It's time to cut bait.

We may never know on Dotson. He had scholarship offers from some big time programs, like Louisville. He was a 4-star recruit, but had a knee injury as a senior and hasn't been the same. Hopefully we see the real Dotson in the future and are not seeing the real Dotson now.
White has underperformed, but we would be significantly worse without him. Maybe next year as a 5th year senior he can put it all together.

1) It's not like trent isn't recruiting the state's best talent. He has and is. Ludwig, darenbecker, and Issac are the three top players in louisiana the past three years.
markel brown, brian williams, langston galloway

First of all, the post you reference mentions three players from three different years. The players you list are all from the same year.
LSU signed Derenbecker and Turner, both rated higher than the three you mention, and at the same positions. How many wings would you have LSU sign? Nothing any of the players have done this year indicates they are better than the ones LSU signed.
And Brian Williams? Give me a break. He hasn't played a single minute this year.

I would rather hear what Rudy Macklin had to say in person about the situation and not what he had to say on the radio for all to hear (including LSU).

i don't think so. i think dotson will be a very good role player before he leaves. he's our best defensive guard right now.
i think white can be decent player once they get the primary post presence (hamilton or obryant) and let white be the power forward to rome free and get rebounds and put backs. he's not a go to post player.
ideally, he and dotson come off the bench. hopefully, next years team will have a starting five of hamilton (C), obryan't (p.f.), darenbecker (s.f.), Turner (s.g., and ross miller (p.g.). your bench would be stringer, white, dotson, isaac, warren.

2)"he has no big's that can play" he's recruited o'bryant and hamilton to come in.
storm warren and malcom white have regressed since their last seasons on an SEC court. is that a good thing?

4)he has to recruit program players.
if you cant win, this is irrelevant. You'll get laughed out of town if you keep recruiting program players with no results. You don't build a foundation with "program players".
you have to get out and put more effort in getting some more talented players. Bottom line. Then you can start recruiting program players.

i think brown will become a good player, he's starting to come into his own a little bit with more minutes. i'd rather turner + derenbecker though. we'll see about williams, galloway was basically never coming here as has been talked about tons on here and the recruiting board.

I hope they all turn out to be great players. I just get sick of people who know nothing about the situation spouting off names.
In a year when the top 4 players in the state were wings, along with major out-of-state interest from Turner, someone is going to get left out. I have watched them all play this year, except Williams who is redshirting, and I think TJ made the right personnel call in this situation.

technically we threw out a line up vs Bama with Turner at the 2 and Derenbecker at the 3.
you dont think Turner could play SF and say Langston Galloway play off guard?
are not Turner and Derenbecker the same size with similar skill sets?
or even bring Galloway off the bench. Someone not only with a pulse, but with some talent?
recruiting for positions is cool when you have the luxury. I dont think we do, consider Courntney, Dotson, Chris Bass, etc aren't giving us shite.
Galloway's 5.8 RPG would be 2nd on our team, BTW. Just slightly behind Warren's 6.1

I'm not ready to give up on Trent Johnson yet. It's a rebuilding process, and I'm ok with that if it makes us better. I knew last year would be bad (it was worse than I thought) but I thought this year would be a little better, but it's really not. Hamilton and O'Bryant better be as good as advertised and not just another M. White who is just terrible.
I'm all for giving Trent the rest of this year and all of next year, but I expect to see signifigant improvement next year. And I mean signifigant improvement.

Wow!! I didn't realize that "West Coast" guys didn't know anything about basketball. I didn't realize that only guys from the Deep South can coach basketball. You know, guys from places like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. Just look at all of those national titles and Final Four apperances from schools in those states.

oh dear lord, regressed? yep, trent coached that Achilles strain storm has. his best years have come under trent, have they not? so trent can improve storm from frosh to soph but makes him regress as a jr. that makes sense.
white, check the numbers. he's still a 6 and 6 guy. the same guy.

really, butler, george mason, san diego st, byu, gonzaga, all disagree.
the problem is you have to wait 3 or four years for them to mature and come together. however, if you recruit program guys, then when they graduate, you have mature guys replacing them.
you build a "program" with program guys. you build a "team" with one and done guys.

Really?? the highest we've ranked in attendance was at 36 in the nation in 2000. Even with the final four team we couldn't get attendance to within 1,000 people of that avg.
Alabama has out ranked us in attendance since that year. Almost every year Kentucky has been 1st or 2nd. Arkansas, Tennessee, Miss. St. and like teams have done pretty well in attendance too.
what point were you trying to make when you brought attendance at Bama into this?
