I feel better about this o line than I have for some years. Solid across the board, should be extremely effective in our running game yet give whatever QB plays the time to get the ball out accurately. If other positions work out, this offense could be pretty good.

Last year's took a few games to get going, but turned out to be a very good O-line when healthy.
I don't think we have any one person as good as La'el was, but we have the right mix of talent and experience for a very good season.

2015 is going to be a special year in the trenches. Jeff Grimes and Ed Orgeron are two of the best you'll find anywhere.
Take out the Arkansas game where Alexander and Porter were absent due to injury, and during the last 6 games of the season, our line paved the way for 307 rushes for 1614 yards and 9 TDs... over 5.2 ypc and 269 per game.
On the other side, you take out the Notre Dame game, where Chavis had essentially mailed it in, and our interior D allowed only 181 rushes for 616 yards and 4 TDs... under 3.5 ypc and 102 per game.
Speedy is the one with the graphic on this, but I'm pretty sure Miles is something like 50-3 when his team rushes for 250+ and holds his opponent under 150 rushing.
Gonna be very very special.

It literally pains me when LSU gets beat in the trenches. I cannot stand it. I'm cautiously optimistic about both lines this year. I have hope that they jell and develop into excellent units. We shall see.
I'm old enough to remember when the only thing LSU had was toughness and we would beat the crap out of our opponent only to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory (they won the game but we won the battle). I also remember the days of the moral victory (losing to Bama and others, but being glad we kept it close and fought them tough).
Glad those days are over, but we need to dominate the LOS.
