Get off Eades he's a hell of a pitcher. Had a bad day like Wahl. PM should have rested him anyway. Regardless he'll be gtg.

. The notion that Eades isn't effective is laughable.

I agree. Early in the season Eades was more effective than Nola and some here were calling him the ace of the staff. What we're experiencing here is a case of "what have you done for me lately" syndrome.

There is also the assumption that Eades may be tiring but I don't buy into that theory since he's thrown less than 90 innings over a three month time span.

He does need to be effective or LSU won't see omaha IMHO.

If he didn't wear down last year, i'd maybe agree.

Not necessarily the case

I'd agree. We have enough arms that Eades doesn't have to be effective for us to make Omaha. He wasn't all that effective yesterday and we would still have swept OM if Maneri had really wanted to.
I will say, the road will be much smoother if he is on top of his game though.

Definitely, I would've agreed we would be in trouble a few weeks ago, but Glenn has stepped up and can be that guy.

I actually think the most important arms in the regionals- outside of Nola and Glenn- will be Joey B, Bonvil, Rumbelow, and Cotton. With a decent showing by McCune mixed in. I feel better about our pitching staff going into this post season than I have in a long time.

I inadvertantly released these for the days from 3/4-3/7 with the old formula; my apologies.

Ratings are updated daily around 8:30 Central Time.

Of course we need Eades to be effective. He will start games in the postseason and a less than effective outing could put LSU in the loser's bracket where the pressure mounts.

We don't need him to be dominant but he needs to be effective enough to keep LSU in the game.

Effective doesn't mean he throws a nine inning two hitter but it does mean he doesn't put LSU in a hole they can't get out of.

Disagree. He won't be left in long enough to put us in a hole. We have enough arms to overcome an ineffective outing from Eades. See yesterday. He gave up 5 runs but had Maneri wanted that game we had the arms to win it anyway. Instead he just let Berry lob softballs.

Perhaps, but we don't know how long CPM will go with Eades if he gets in trouble early. Thing is, Eades has demonstrated an ability to pitch out of jams all season. That's great and the kid's fortitude should be acknowledged. But it also means Paul may leave him in longer than he should hoping for similar results.

I expect Eades will keep us in games during the post season and that's what I call effective pitching from a starter.
