Anyone mentioned Johnny Jones?

Jamie Dixon might right the ship. But he would miss basketball country. Sooner or later he would get back to the part of the country where his sport is No. 1.
Tim Floyd grew up in the South. His Daddy coached at Southern Miss. He was an assistant coach at UTEP under one of the game's best coaches. He can recruit. He can coach. He would not leave.
We need stability. We need a defensive coach. We need a man happy with his surroundings. We need a man the fans can relate to. Tim Floyd had success at UNO, Iowa State and Southern Cal.
Tim Floyd likes to fish. He can find an outlet for his passion in any direction in less than hour. Has anyone ever been to El Paso?
Floyd will be a good choice. He is up to the challenge.

Exactly and any of the names you mentioned, I believe would be highly interested and certainly an improvement and you are correct about Wayne Tinkle. I live in Montana now since 2005 and he has done wonders with the Montana program but all in all the names you mentioned are plenty and I believe any one of them would come to LSU. Its a sleeping giant, just need to rekindle the flames as Daddy Dale did when he first came here.

I can't believe people even entertain this sort of talk.

What about the trouble he was in in USC? While true that he has had SOME success, he has never led a team deep into the NCAA tournament. To me, the fact that Shaka Smart is a competent court general and that his style has been called the "havoc" reminds me a lot of Dale Brown. I believe he is the BEST choice. Dixon would be a good second choice. And whoever is hired, Randy should be brought in as the top assistant.

People supporting Johnny Jones because they can't seem to rid themselves of 1985 and Dale Brown seem out of touch.

He's the only choice, IMO.

I can't decide if people keep throwing out Johnny Jones because they want him or because, in typical LSU fan fashion, he has a connection and whenever we have an opening or potential opening, we always throw out these names and automatically assume/believe they would be a good fit.
Like when we thought Miles was leaving and everyone kept throwing out Muschamp and every other assistant/coach who ever coach here's name.

I can't understand why people would support a Jones hire. What has he done?

First, Tim Floyd had to get USC to built its first on campus basketball facility in its history. Prior to that, the Trojans were practicing in a gym smaller than the U-High gym.
