Leesville has bigger hotels and it's not all that bad.

Leesville is a total hell hole. It’s like 15 years behind on everything. Their movie theater doesn’t even have stadium seating. If a tall guy or a guy with a big head sits in front of you, you can’t see. It’s like jumping in a time machine. Them getting a chili’s was a huge deal.

I nominate Cecil's as well. Pretty good food, and they will have the game. Presley's barbecue is a second option, also in DeRidder.

For a step back into the 1950s, walk next door to Smitty's barber shop for a trim while you are at Cecil's.

There seem to be a few of us from around the area. Maybe you can get a couple of cold ones paid for it.

Go to Cecil’s in deridder. Really Great bar considering the location.

Or you can drive an hour south to LC and go to walk ons, bdubs , etc...

Slim's Bar in Leesville? Anybody been there? Cool scene on Saturday's?

I grew up in the Ville. A friend of mine actually owned Slims in the 90's.

Cecil's

Considering you’re basically in Yankeeland, Cecil’s is actually pretty decent for where you’re at.

Slims is gone. Moved out to kurthwood highway, now closed. Nothing in Rosepine, don't speed especially in the morning, the hwy in town is a school zone. Cecils, Pressly and Mi Rancho are good choices. No bars in DeRidder, just liquor stores and restaurants with bars. Leesville has bars, where DeRidder used to party before they got smart and went wet. Not much in Rosepine, what the hell you doin in Rosepine? Yes we have a Chili's, and yes it was kinda a big deal. Sad to say that's about it, other than Wagon Disaster, but they have the sister store in DeRidder, Double D's.

You’re probably better off driving to Alexandria.. only a 45 minute drive. Better options there

How bad does Rosepine have to be if you are suggesting Alexandria!

Tail'Gators in Leesville is a bar, grill and has a huge daiquiri bar as part of it. They have great hamburgers. Have never eaten anything else there. Get a Monkey Shine with an extra shot or two of brown rum if you go.

It's on 171 close to Leesville but you don't have to go through New Llano or to Leesville. Probably between Leesville and Fort Polk.

There is an old motel next door to it if you are getting your own lodging and turning in receipts it may not be too bad for one night.

4-star on Yelp with 22 pictures.
Tail’Gators Bar, Grill and Daiquiris

4 1/2 stars on Trip Advisor
Daqaries at pool - The roast beef po-boy with gravy was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Their burgers are also very delicious.
