“He has great speed, he runs great routes, he has a good set of hands,” Michael Vick said. “He knows how to play football instinctively and that’s what you’re always looking for, a guy you don’t have to teach everything.
In a single sentence, an NFL QB just refuted every single Rant excuse for Shepard's gross underutilization at LSU.

People that are true Tiger fans should be happy just to see another former Tiger doing well in the hard to make NFL. All this bashing crap I will never get.
Somehow, in some weird way, it makes them feel good about their crappy inferior lives. The ole' "If I can't have it, they can't either" mentality. Probably stems from a childhood where "no one get's left behind" ruled their upbringing. Majority of these flakes on here probably never played a sport in their life.

Lets see what happens when full contact comes. I will reserve judgement on shep till he gets popped in the mouth by an nfl linebacker and gets back up to run the play again. That seemed his biggest issue.

how many designed pass plays do the eagles have written up for Shep?
follow up question: how long before Shep throws a pass for the eagles?

Good hands?!?! I only saw stone hands for 4 years.
I think the entire article is typical of early camp articles. They look for a feel-good story, like an undrafted free agent working hard. They get one quote from a QB - and what's Vick supposed to say? He's going to say something nice. The other quote was from a former LSU teammate, so you know it's going to be positive.
Let's all just take a deep breath and see where he is when the real season starts. I like Shep, but I seriously doubt his ability to make an NFL roster.

From this morning's Philadelphia Inquirer:
"I would disagree that the #2 WR job is Shepard's to lose. Shepard has been impressive in camp, unquestionably, but if I'm ranking them by the camps they're having, I'd put at least 3 players (Desean Jackson, Damaris Johnson, and Jason Avant) over Shepard at this point. Depending on how many WRs make the squad and whether or not Riley Cooper comes back or Arrelious Benn proves he can stay healthy, Shepard may not even be a lock to make the 53-man roster from what I've seen. Roob makes a fair point that Johnson and Avant are better suited to the slot, but it's probably more likely that the Eagles will go with some sort of platoon at the #2 WR spot, which might even include tight ends, but I don't think Shepard will be featured there."
