Brooks was known for his speed and track background coming out of HS. No doubt he runs sub 4.4

He'll be one of those guys that people can't believe he was around in the later rounds. I think he's maturing as a player. It may be a little late for LSU fans but it will all come together in the NFL.

If he runs under a 4.4 he will fly up draft boards. My prediction as of now is 4th round

I hope (and believe) he will have a long, successful NFL career. My favorite player on the team for the past several years and one of my favorite LSU players of all time. He would have been my pick for #18 this past year.

Here's how I think our players will be drafted:

1st Round - Claiborne - Top 10
Late 1st Early 2nd - Brockers
3rd Round - Randle
3rd Round - Blackwell
4th Round - B. Taylor
4th or 5th - K. Adams
5th Round - D Peterson
6th Round - Baker
6th Round - Brooks

JJ, Lee, T-Bob and the others will not be drafted.

I think he is better then tm7 in covering and equal in run suport. Tm7 is a playmaker but so is brooks. Go ahead and blast away

No qualms there. TM7 just has a nose for the ball. Ron Brooks will have a long NFL career.

Brooks without pads runs a high 4.3 easily.

nah, Ron's issue has always been man coverage. that's why he's bounced back and forth from CB to safety, and why younger guys kept coming in and beating him on the depth chart. he can drop into a zone, but you don't see him manning too many guys up. to his credit, I think he's improved at it though.

tackling-wise, he and Tyrann are as good as we got. wonder if someone tries to put a few lbs on him and put him at safety. if he makes it as a CB, I could see him in a Tampa 2 scheme (does anyone run that anymore?)

I know a lot of Saints fans that would trade him for Malcolm Jenkins straight-up....

Jenkins is a safety now though, so I don't see how that would work. I'd take Taylor on the Saints though

i like brooke..but besides blitzing, he's not impressive. His hips and ability to change direction is suspect. And he for sure can't return kickoffs. And he doesn't have size. He prolly won't get drafted, but may get picked up on a practice squad

Almost no one runs under a 4.4, so I'd say there's a lot of doubt that he runs a sub 4.4.
