why would anyone think Meyer couldn't recruit 2 elite QB's to Ohio State at the same time?

I suppose it's possible. My definition of elite is the top 2 or 3, 5 at the very most. Burrow was nowhere near that last season, but I don't see why he couldn't be in 2019.

Tate Martell transferred. Justin Fields transferred.

AND neither have shown that they're elite so far.

By what measure? QB/WR combined stats? Then no. But, by what Burrow was able to do with a 'chocolate mess' of an offense? Absolutely, IMO.

Haskins couldn't have done nearly as well in that LSU offense - again, my opinion (having watched video & live of both for years)

Keep listening to Ro. You will see the light!

I don't doubt him and I'm expecting a quantum leap in the 2019 offense compared to last season. If there isn't, we have a serious problem.

But, my response was in reference to Burrow being elite last year and the offense being great last year. That just wasn't the case. I'm not saying it was terrible, but very inconsistent. Very good in games vs Ole Miss, UGA and UCF. Also the 2nd half of Auburn. It was average in other games. Better days are ahead though I think.

And my response is in reference to Burrow possessing the elite skill-set that he has demonstrated since high school. Not achieving lofty QB/WR* combined stats that may have more to do with the system he is in than his own skill-set.

*more accurately, QB/WR/OL/OC combined stats

Joe had to deal with poor offensive line play, wide receivers not fully bought into the system, and running backs that would rather dance at the line of scrimmage than hit the hole hard. I'd say that was a lot to overcome. He still ended up with respectable numbers.

Is that why you repeatedly insisted on asking someone else to ask me to provide proof of you saying everyone in the other thread, and then when I did you stopped asking for it?

That was me he kept asking for proof of whatever it was he was upset about.

He posted the same thing to me over and over and over. What a fricking idiot.

I get it that he's a Burrow fan. Nothing wrong with that. The kid's a pretty good quarterback. But he's nowhere near as good as buckeye joe makes him out to be.

His 2018 stats prove that to be true.

Burrow was a pretty good quarterback last year But he sure as hell wasn't a top 5 quarterback last year like you've claimed for the past 10 months.

Maybe this year he'll be a great quarterback. Maybe he won't

I'm not pissing on Burrow's ability. I'm just going by what his stats show. He ranked in the middle of the pack (51 to 79) in the nation except for passing yards per completion (#22) last year.

That would be you.

One of these quotes aren't like the other ones.

If you think they're the same, you're one dumb motherfricker.

Yes they are. That's how they made it into my dumbest posters on the rant bracket.

It's a shame that thread got deleted.

If the line will give Burrow time he will make things happen. I had my reservations about Burrow some last year but he showed balls in the bowl game and almost killed himself in the A&M game. He’s a good leader and that’s the most important thing I could ask for a QB. Hopefully Ensminger lets him run the RPOs a lot more this to showcase his legs a little more. You would not expect a guy that looks like him to be as athletic as he is.
