Do SEC games

They mentioned during the game Saturday night that Stanfield was our most consistent hitter in SEC play.

I can’t find where it’s broken down by SEC games only. I wish I could. At this point in the season, SEC stats are about the only thing I pay attention to for the guys that are everyday players unless those stats are unavailable like RISP

I’m pretty certain this is .000 in SEC games. I went back checking and can’t find a hit with RISP.

Just catching up on this thread. Yikes.

He need to fill the Jake Brown role (maybe even behind Larson) as a LH PH.

With the exception of Pearson, I don't think we have a 'problem' hitting with RISP. Most of those guys are pretty consistent hitting with or without RISP. Some are performing a bit above their regular BA (Frey, Brown, Jones, and Larson), but most are close.

Yeah, I know it's tough without the conference/non conference breakdown, but we haven't been all that bad with RISP this year. Auburn was the only weekend where it was noticeable IMO.

You can pick apart any number of things on a given week. We're not a complete team yet. I'd rather be complete down the stretch anyway. We're in a really good spot without even putting it all together yet. Just enjoy the ride.

We didn't pitch all that well against Mizzou.
We struggled to get the big hit against Texas.
We had some highs and lows against Miss St.
We pitched our tails off against Oklahoma.
Hitting was abysmal against Auburn.
We had some highs and lows against Bama.

12-6 and top 4 in the conference. #6 RPI.

We'll take at least 2 from Tennessee this weekend. I think we can sweep them.

Scoring 7-10 runs a game really covers up some pitching deficiencies for sure.

LSU has a top 3 staff in the league. Timely hitting and too many K’s lately are the problem

It’s because we don’t know how to manufactured runs. It’s not what Jay does or teaches, clearly. We either hit balls off the wall or over the wall to score. Period. It’s just not great baseball.

Sounds like your boy Vitello TBH. Vols stopped hitting home runs the last few weeks and now they can’t score and drop home series to Kentucky

probably a recency bias but you don’t score 0 runs with the bases loaded as often as we have been lately without a few strike outs.

Better than having a LISP issue, IMHO

I would love to see beck get a chance to dh for a game, last year he batted 377 with 18 Homer's. If you wanted more power in the lineup you could put Jones at 3rd and beck at 1st base.

I would like to see us get more out of the catcher position too,but preister can't receive worth a shite . I think Hernandez is just in a slump and arrambide is back to where he should be based on being young, he just got hot against some bad teams for a few midweek games.

Im surprised we don't try to extend dorsey or pitch beck. Between the 2 of them they have pitched 6.1 innings and haven't given up an earned run

I don't see why we don't use midweek to see what we've got with guys like woods, beck, dorsey, maybe even brown and Thompson. What can it hurt, if we take an early lead we should just throw guys that haven't thrown more than a few innings.

Jay's had 2 teams in his time at LSU that relied on the long ball to score, this year isn't one of them. Almost every team he coached at his previous schools didn't rely on the long ball.

This year we've attempted to steal more that usual under him, we've already bunted this year more than we have in entire seasons when we were relying on the long ball like in 2023.

That's called manufacturing runs and trying to stack good abs and not just swinging for the fences. We were playing that way all the way up until the auburn series
