It was his knees not shoulder that gave him problems. I believe all the injuries he and Pat Screen had at the same time turned Mac into a 2 QB coach for the rest of his career.

If not for his injuries I think he would have gone down as one of the greatest LSU QB's.

I agree with this 100%. He was one of those guys that when he came into a game...things happened. Just one of those players that got something going when he came in. Instant spark. Hate to hear that he is gone.

He was the quarterback when I was a freshman at LSU. Great days of football. RIP.

He was the most exciting LSU QB I remember from that era. I agree 100% with you. These bum knees really did a number on him, but he worked hard and came back to play another season. While he had his mobility, I think he was an early preview of another very mobile passer at Ole Miss by the name of Archie Who? Stokley will always be an LSU great.

My sympathy to his family. He was a good ambassador for the Tigers. I remember his playing days. He was a very good quarterback for the Tigers.
