maybe the coaching staff questioned ridley's ability to pick up a couple of yards... anyone remember the bama game where we were up 15-13 and had a 3rd and 1? ridley didn't follow parsons through the hole...
ridley needs to look in the mirror, man. i don't like dogging players but maybe he should pick up a yard or two in a key situation when given the opportunity. but no... he gets stuffed by mcclain and we punt. next drive julio jones gives bama the lead.
i disliked the back to back fades as well, but ridley should check himself before he continues his career here

If they take the redshirt off Ford at this point, not only should Miles and every person on the offensive coaching staff be fired, but they should lined up in front of a firing squad. No way. If you dont want your players saying that stuff, then dont do it.

Which one is the HEAD COACH again????

How does he know it wasn't Crowton? Not being ugly ... just wondering.

Yeah it probably reads 10 times worse than it was, but he should dtill just say 'we ran what the coaches called' and let that be it.

Sounds like the team is rallying around Miles:
"The way he came out and said that says a lot about him as a man and as a person," senior tight end Richard Dickson said. "He's taking a lot of criticism and is going to take a lot of criticism so we feel like we're going to have to rally around him."
Ridley said Miles needed to take the blame for the loss.
"The team, that's something that we needed to hear," he said. "Because there's a bunch of questions going around. People are wondering, 'What's the situation? What's going on?' But coach Miles, for him to do that, it says a lot, and that's why I look forward to playing for him in the future. This team's got to come together, period."
"Any head coach that does that in front of their team, in front of their assistants and comes up there and says, 'This was my fault,' I mean it takes a lot for somebody to swallow their pride and say that, 'I messed something up.' He did what he needed to do. There's nothing else that needs to be said by him. It says a lot about the person that he is. I respect that he said, 'This was my fault.' Coach Miles, he manned up and said he cost us the game. That's all you can ask for from him."

No arguments Wiki. Miles should have vetoed the call. But I'm just correcting that guy who thinks that that comment meant that Crowton wanted to call run, but Miles called something else.
Gotta nip shite like that in the bud.

Like I said, I have heard Miles was calling most of the plays but he came out after the Ole Miss game and said he wasnt and that he "suggested" that they call a running play but Crowton was doing all the play calling.
For the love of frick, LES MILES IS NOT CALLING THE frickING PLAYS!!

Do you have a link? I'd like to read the whole article.

Confirmed that Miles let GC call the play: Miles is the head coach! He should step in and change the play!
Confirmed that Miles overrode GC's play call: Miles is the head coach! He needs to let the offensive coordinator do his job!

Because he knows that Miles isn't calling the plays.

Ridley has a better chance of being benched by playing well on the field! At least thats the way it works for everyone else.

Miles costs us a shitload of games by lack of preperation and getting his skull kicked in in the game management department.

We're seriously fricked up right now. Coaches dogging players, players second guessing coaching......this sucks.
I agree. You hate to see things like this because this is when a program can get totally out of control. It is not good to have the players second guessing the coaching staff.

And on a side note, who was the guy (defense I'm pretty sure) during the 2001 SECCG that lost his redshirt THAT game? I NEVER remember his name. Worked out great ... situation different though. Higher stakes with the SECCG.

Ridley has shown his ability to break a game open. he is very talented. i would have loved to see him get a carry after the pass interference on the first fade, but it didn't work out that way.
he will get his chance to prove himself after what we saw in the bama game, i just wish he would have been groomed on how to answer that question. looking forward to him and murphy next year

Not with our starting 3 RB's out for the season. Miles would be stupid to bench the kid with the mood of the fans and media right now. Can you imagine the pushback? Crowton deserves to be called out repeatedly. This loss has to suck more for the players than anyone; they deserve to be pissed too. If Ridley was asked about it and gave an honest answer, nothing should happen to him.
