I dont love it at all. I'm ashamed that we have someone too stupid to use his words and assert his rights to get out of a situation.
Sad really.

The Sheriff's Office booked Jefferson with battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and interfering with a police officer, according to the summons.

So he was booked or all this and is only being charged with resisting arrest, correct?

Dunno...depends on the situation I guess. Until I see otherwise, this reads an awful lot like the situation that occurred in the Quarter with the two black kids who were approached and tossed around by the group of plainclothes state troopers. Given it never looked like they identified themselves, I completely understood the desire to run from what looked like a pack of guys about to assault you and your friend. As I'm a 42 year old slow white guy, I ain't running from shite...so I'd have been likely to turn and be ready to throw a punch.

I think the whole thing gets sketchier given this was a plainclothes cop.

But hey...who knows? If it happened as this report suggests and he knowingly clocked a cop...he ought to be gone. I'll wait and see.

lawlz.

because kidnappers grab 18 year old young black men using handcuffs, after chasing them down a public parade route.

Ummm, maybe these kids are very well informed on historical events/people. Jeffery Dahmer had an incident very close to this. He told the cops that they were gay lovers having a quarrel. The cops released the kid back to Dahmer.

They have no business making arrests without uniformed officers present.

well we all know...if 18 year olds are known for anything...it's their knowledge of legal rights and their quick wit and intelligence to use those rights to get out of compromising situations.

Wait. Wait. Wait. Are you implying that brawls and police brutality don't happen on major parade routes every year?

yeah, particularly is one of the kids was an honor student. Those kind of kids are certainly known to be slack jawed fools who are lazy bad students.

I mean really, an honor student wouldnt know the bill of rights...it's not like those things are taught.

You cant even keep the facts straight in your bullshite.

Dump his sorry arse NOW!!! He is like his thug arse brother. If Les don't kick his off the team now, we can expect more of the same in the future. Nick doesn't put up with any shite. They don't call him Nick the Prick for nothing.
