I for one was more than excited about his potential. He has yet to live up to my expectations. What is everyone elses opinion?

Does he have a better 2009, or should KW get most of his carries?

I feel he wasnt given the chance knowing that he has 2 more years. putting him in the wild tiger formation was crap!! we did the same play every time!!

I think he gets lost in the shuffle. Miles likes tough between the tackle runners. With Ford and the other recruits coming in next year, I think that Murphy is always a 3rd string RB.

i don't know what to think about him.

he has the talent no doubt so is it a lack of touches or do the coaches see something we don't?

I will take him as a 3rd string.

That means our 1st and 2nd are awesome!

I dont know, I am a big softy and hope that all LSU players get a chance to do well. RM got 40 plus touches this year, and I did not see any WOW type runs. KW and CS both are better options IMO.

We have outstanding depth right now,and he'll have to wait his turn. He'll be a good one by the time he's a senior and should be the starter with Ford getting some carries in 10'.

I think they should move the guy to a slot reciever and get him in space. He is not an SEC caliber running back and doesn't want to lower his head and hit the hole. LSU has had great success in past years taking running backs and converting them to wide outs. Eric Martin, Herman Fontenot, Josh Reed, Devery Henderson, etc.

He was overhyped. All he has ever done is do well in spring practice against walk ons. He is not good enough to be the main back. Most of the time he just gets like a 2 yard run. The only time he breaks one is if the OL makes a huge gaping hole for him.

Not really. Scott and Keiland can at least juke or break tackles to get more yards. Murphy definitely cannot break tackles and he isnt that shifty. He has good speed but not good vision.

He was the only player I was disappointed in during the bowl game.

I talked to one of his brothers the other day and all he said was Richard never backs down from a challenge and is looking forward to next year. said no way he is going anywhere and he's not letting any in coming freshman come in and overtake him on the depth chart.
