I see it less as a failure and more as another opportunity that LSU had to have an epicly cool thing but failed to consult me to put the finishing touches on it (ie: letting them actually play GH on the jumboADVERTISEMENTtron.)

That was what I was expecting....and yes, I might have gone for that.

It would have definitely been "something" new at least.

I agree that guitar hero was beyond retarded, but don't pull "we come for tradition". If that were the case, nobody would sit in the Upper Decks, or watch the video boards.....or bob their hand up and down during NECK.

As long as it doesn't get in the way of us having "Latin Flair" and "Tribute to Chicago" halftime shows for the 47th consecutive year than I'm good.

If I don't get a chance to hear "25 or 6 to 4" this year I'm going to shoot myself in the face with rock salt.

I saw it, thought it was pretty lame, but I don't see any reason to make a big fuss about it. What's wrong with trying to get more students involved in the gameday action at Tiger Stadium?

I'm confused. How does having a couple losers play a video game at half time get students more involved in gameday action?

The students that are AT the game are AT the game, there's hardly a need to make sure they get "involved" - its the friggin student section. I've seen the student section perform time and time again and they are always loud, sometimes crude, but 100% they are "involved". There's no need for guitar hero.

What are they gonna to do get ME involved in more gameday action? I'm 32, so how about they have someone play Super Mario Brothers at half time to the tune of Pearl Jam? I need something to make me feel more involved at LSU games. Yelling my fool head off is no longer enough. Must have pop culture and trendy fads at the half!

And for folks not much older than me, we could have a half-time rubics cube competition.

What about all the old people who come to the games? We definitely need to get them involved. Lets have a shuffle board tournament right before kickoff

NECK is led by what student body? Is it the BAND? The band, is that a fairly new addition to the games or has that been around a while?

Is it really that big of a deal? The key is to expect that every halftime show will suck so that you will never be disappointed.

They made the mistake of disallowed tobacco anywhere in TS a few years back. That means the newest critics of the halftime shows are people who would ordinarily be by the bathrooms sucking down at least a couple of smokes - but instead they are in the stands, wishing they had a smoke.

That's me. When I'm nicing for a smoke, I do not want to see guitar hero.

Can you please show me an example of when student government at LSU has ever done either of these?

Student Government is nothing but artsy, fartsy, BS that needs to stop everything that it is doing. All it does is make LSU appear to be a kindergarden excerise in attempting to be "Creative" and being "Involved".

Don't get me started. It's not ok to smoke a cigarette but it's ok to be completely loaded and drive home almost hitting about 100 people on the way out.

I attended LSU from 1995-2000 for my undergraute degree, and I've been working on a phd since 2004.

So that's 5+5 years = 10 years at LSU.

I can honestly say I have no idea WTF the student government ever did for me.

I can understand that others don't want our smoke. That's cool. Designate a smoking patio. Its a big stadium. I don't mind having to walk down to the ground floor at half time for a smoke - but (depending on the game) I do NEED SMOKE.

I was at LSU from 1997-2005 for my bachelors and masters degrees.

And all student goverment ever did was make me embarrased. I remembering thinking "God I hope no-one from another university sees this shite!"

As a former smoker...I never could get myself to figure our which way I felt about the smoking rules.

I never, ever smoked inside my apt., only outside on the balcony. So at first, I thought well the best place to allow smoking at the stadium would be the outdoors, uncovered area. Problem is that is where the seats are. So I then thought, go inside the stadium (where the con. stands are) but then the smoke gets trapped, etc. So I don't know what the best solution is.

All I can remember is that their excuse for not wanting to put out recycling containers (back in the day before they had them) was that it would put the old man who went around campus digging through garbage cans for cans out of work.

At least at the gate I walk in, there's a LOT of ground floor space in TS that is used just to store crap (crap which I'm sure is needed), and it looks like that if that crap were stored more efficiently, they could create some extra space, and put in a smoking patio.

This will not be done.

The irony is, that if LSU had banned smoking 10 years ago, there would have been a bigger push for a smoking patio, and there would be one. Now there are so few smokers left, and the few of us that exist are used to it.

Id love to hear which student organizations most of you were a part of while attending LSU?

You have every right to boast your opinion on the show, but until you can say you did anything remotely close to helping the University aside from moaning and taking it out on people who give their time for the school..SHUT UP.
