He can't have it both ways. Screws the team by quitting right before the season starts. Don't care if he is going to NFL or not. He said he didn't want to be a part of the team or program. Being on the sidelines is a privilege. Suspended players shouldn't be on the sidelines either.

I am sad that he is turning pro. I am grateful for what he did as an LSU Tiger. Please respect his decision. Act like you have class even if you have to pretend.

this is all well and good but I also think its ok to be upset with him over the timing of it. Its probably the correct choice for him as his stock has no where to go but down by playing, but that's been the case for months. I'm not saying he should be bashed but fans can understandably be upset

I am hoping that the $$$ just showed up and that's what drove this decision. I am hoping that he wasn't just lying around and was like "yep, I'm out".

I think (hope) most people understand and are just being emotional about it. Wonder if seeing what happened to Delpit in practice the other day played a small part.

This board holds grudges like no other I mean, people still hate LF7 for wearing a shirt they didn’t like

If he goes to the saints then maybe they can find it in their angry brains to be happy for him.

How many will it take for LSU to punt on this season and opt out from the entire season?
If rumors are true, Chase could be tip of the iceberg.

At this point, thank you for leading LSU to a 2019 NC and best of luck in the NFL.

Next man up

It's easy to point out the bad timing as well as his previous statements but in reality we have no idea of how many factors played into this for him, what factors may have recently changed, or what his conversations were with LSU. For all we know, O could have told him that of course he really wants him to return but if he opts out, it at least helps him finding playing time for the other studs in that loaded WR/TE room.

I'm also not saying that it wasn't a poorly managed decision. We just don't know and until I hear otherwise, I'll give him and the coaches the benefit of the doubt.
