What’s weird is they’re not LSU basketball fans but are obsessed with the actual fans. It really bothers them that the program has support.

If we wanted to win we’d spend what it takes to win. The problem is if you look at the spending it went up a lot under Wade and he was promised facilities and upgrades that didn’t happen so it would’ve went up a lot more. I think money is the core issue with LSU basketball. I think you could probably put some basketball ppl together and come up with a plan to get things right even with a small budget but if they’re that cheap idk if they care enough to even do that.

I agree and it’s racked my brain for years that we run it like a HS program. Maybe they’re happy to take their TV check and make their 1/2 mil per or maybe they use baseball’s rare profitability as a backstop. I’ve even had ppl tell me the bball program is like a shell comp for the athletic program. It doesn’t make sense but we’re undeniably cheap when it comes to basketball. Even the Wade hire was cheap, we just got lucky.

We actually had a director of basketball ops up until this year and now there’s no basketball personnel on a bloated administrative staff. He hired McMahon because of Buzz Peterson so it’s a buddy hire. That’s what’s so dreadful about the situation, there’s a feeling of not really trying attached to the program right now.

A fan of what exactly? Wade or LSU basketball? I was a fan of Wade for the program being more successful under him. I don’t think he was the best recruiter and his rosters seemed to have holes in them. He admitted this himself. What I believe is that our success came from the talent that we had and superior athletic ability over some teams and was not a result of anyone being developed under Wade. I don’t think he was the coach he was made out to be and yes I am an LSU basketball fan and I understand that Wade isn’t coming back. Nobody forces me to come to the message board but it is very annoying seeing 30 posts about Wade and Woody during and after every basketball game. He’s gone. If MM doesn’t have success then he will eventually be gone as well.
