Remember when Jaylon Smith did that then got hurt and missed out on millions?

You’re not in his shoes, don’t pretend to make decisions on his behalf. This team has quit, what is he staying for?

I didn’t realize leaving after 3 years was the same as leaving 6 days before your next game against your nemesis. Hm. I must be an idiot.

Tyga,

It is meant as a giving of best wishes to the recipient and all other participants of the conversation.

Joe Burrow and Devin White are 1a and 1b as my favorite Tigers of all time

Kevin Faulk also returned for his senior season, and he did nothing to boost his draft status by coming back. Marcus Spears played 4 seasons. Laron Landry played 4 seasons. Glen Dorsey played 4 seasons. Tre'davious White played 4 seasons. All of thosse guys except Faulk would have been first round picks after their junior seasons and came back regardless.

Remember how he skipped his senior year and missed the greatest season in LSU football history?

He made a business decision. Marshall did the same. Neither were wrong. I will always remember Marshall snagging the CHAMPIONSHIP clinching TD in the Clemson game.

This is not at all comparable. Devin left AFTER the season was over. Marshall is QUITTING MID-SEASON. He punked his teammates last week acting like he gave a shite about them and the program only to quit on them the following week.

Idiot is just taking out his anger on Terrace because he’s probably unhappy with his own life. He doesn’t know anything about Terrace the person. Just an angry man who needs something to bitch about tonight. TM6 is genuinely one of the nicest players on the team and that’s been said by many around the program the past few years. Really nice with the kids as well. He’s an awesome dude

and quit when the schedule gets hard. frick this

What in the everloving Fuk are you taking about? Both of those ‘hard’ games should have been played already. It’s not his fault teams - including LSU - couldn’t keep their players focused on staying healthy and away from exposures for 10 weeks.

I seriously doubt Marshall leaves if we’re 7-0 or 6-1, or even 5-2, and staring down a couple wins and a possible CFP or NY 6 bowl. But this season ended when Pellinini was hired and was buried when Brennan got hurt in a freak injury. Marshall dominated with Brennan at QB. Will almost certainly be a top 15-20 pick with his size and speed. Remember he was higher rated than Chase coming out of high school.

So thank him for his contributions to the program and wish him well.

This doesn't change the fact that he quit on his team with the hardest games left on the schedule. Keep making excuses all that you want but the fact is the kid quit on his team. You want to "opt out" before the season like chase did? Fine. But in the middle of the season? After you talked to the team last week? frick that.

No he won't. The guy is good but this is another stacked receiver class. He's not a 1st rounder.

If it was just strictly a “business decision” Marshall would quit no matter our record. His risks would be the same

I hate that TM quit before the reg season was over, but I disagree with your take.

These “business decisions” are all risk:reward. Right now, it’s all risk for him when he steps on the field...they are just playing out a bad, COVID-impacted season and have no shot at any titles. His only real football reward now lies in the NFL.

If they were still in contention for SEC or national title, that risk:reward changes. It’s not the multi-million-dollar payday reward, but it’s still something to aspire to and justify the risk.

Totally different circumstances and not a fair comparison. White's season wasn't a covid year and the team was still intact and didn't have players opting out left and right. LSU enters the game against Alabama without 5 of its best players - 4 opted out and QB is injured. The reality is if your son stood to lose millions of dollars due to a possible injury and was a sure first round pick, you would recommend your son leave also. This is not about a football game! This is a business decision that could cost a player millions of dollars!

Devin was a different breed. A throwback. A guy who John Ed Bradley’s book “ it never rains in tiger stadium” internal war on his love for lsu football and his career ending. I truly believe Devins decision to go pro will go down as his toughest.
