Tell me more about Cody Townsend. He looks like a blocking machine.

it does seem like we hear this all the time that our line will be down right nasty and then it doesn't happen. 11 being the exception because the line was chewing people up until 1/9

Yeah like losing Faulk, Hurst, and Williford had nothing to do with it

The line got better when Williford got hurt. Turner is better.

God I hope so. Last year was brutal. It got better as the year went along but then all came crashing down in the Chick Fil A bowl. What the hell happened there?
Offensive Line is more about playing together as a unit, knowing who to block and being able to pick up blitz's. What you saw in the Chicken Bowl sure wasn't an example of "Manhandling Fools." They're adequate at run blocking, but can't pass block. Doesn't matter how big and strong they are if they can't effectively protect the QB. Maybe Stud coming back FT will help, but I have uneasy concerns about the OL, especially at Center. By necessity, Williford will be the starter there by the time S.E.C. rolls around.

These are pretty much standard sizes amoung top SEC schools and top programs around the country. What seperates OL's are things like proper footwork, that half second faster off the line to gain leverage that turns a 3 yd gain into a 9 yd gain. Never forgetting assignemnts, proper communication amoung each other. In high school size makes a difference. Every O lineman in the SEC is 300 plus and was all everything in high school. Coaching and the ability to absorb information and use correct fundamentals and limit assignment errors in games are what seperates being good and being a great OL. This is a great post because it ALL starts up front in football. At any level.

You hope a dude who's never played beats out a 5th-year Sr, 3rd-year starter, who's also the biggest dude on the team?

this can't be right. Les kicked him to the curb after offering him a schollie. Worst treatment of a player ever. ESPN even said so. No way he wound up at LSU after that dehumanization.

I saw that braves logo by your name and figured you were full of shite. did a little fact checking and what do you know.

State has one player over 315 on their 2 deep line. (2 deep is all it showed on their page. that player is 320. their heaviest lineman. Also only 3 players larger than 305. that would be 320,315,315...

Auburn does not have a single player on their roster that is 315 or better. there are 2 guys that are 314. Full roster.

Arkansas 2 players heavier than 315. thats 328 & 318. That's their full roster.

Ole miss has some beef.

texas A&M has a 320 and a 330 guy. after that their next biggest is 309... then 307. full roster.

This is just the SECw and i'm sure bama compares. but lets not act like this is average amongst the SEC and college football.
LSU averages about 320.

Now for "top teams"

Texas has zero above 315 on their entire roster

Oregon state has a 329 and 327 after that nobody reaches 310 on their roster.

Oregon has 319 and 305... After that no OL on their roster has a guy that reaches 300.

USC has 335 & 345 then no lsu on their roster that reaches past 310.

Ohio state has 3 guys on their roster that is 315. After them a 312.

Oklahoma state has a 320 & 325 then nobody reaches higher than 295.

Oklahoma has 316, 315, 311 then nobody beyond 310.
