I don’t think our resume supports it, but with a win today, anyone think they may give us a regional?

We are one of very few programs that can and will sell 12,000ish tickets in the post season. And the NCAA does love money.

Interesting take. Can’t wait to see the responses.

Money use to be a huge part of hosting... not anymore. Hope we go somewhere close but don't be surprised if it's north to Minnesota or out west.

I heard we were getting the number 1 overall seed.

Based on what I was told LSU didn't bid on a regional.

So I'd have to answer no to your question.

You’ve posted almost 1200 times and you can’t figure out that this has been the subject of about 20 threads so far...

Consensus seems to be "Not a chance in hell". Its not just our overall record but if you look at the SEC there is what 5 teams (maybe 6-7) that are locks to host regionals. From that there's 3 maybe 4 that will also get SR's right? I just don't see the NCAA giving a questionable host site to the SEC when there is already a load of SEC teams hosting along with possibly 50% SEC SR hosts. It's more likely that they will try to get another West Coast or Mid-West host site in order to more evenly distribute sites across the entire country. But what the Hell do I know, wasn't like 2-3 years ago there wasn't a single host site out West. I think Texas was as far West that it got?

The ONLY way LSU would host is as a 2 seed if they're paired with a 1 seed who doesn't have the facilities or can't host for some reason... But seeing as that's not likely with the current top 16, I'm not getting my hopes up

I think the concensus is more accurately described as "very slim chance but wackier things have happened". As you pointed out, blatantly unfair awarding of regionals has happened before. The truth is that not a single person here knows definitivaly if it can happen. If there was a rule pertaining to such things that clearly ruled it out I'm sure a rant member would have posted it here already just to shut myself and others up already. Those saying money has nothing to do with it anymore, are being naive. Money is always a consideration at some level, whether disclosed or not. We will all find out tomorrow then all the "I told you so" people can start another dozen threads about it.

I just got off the phone with the NCAA and they said we are a lock to host. So now no more stupid threads needed
