red and yellow sec logo

does anyone know why the sec logos on the field were red and yellow? they are always the colors of the home team. ours is always purple with the letters "sec" in white, the circle trimmed in gold.

i was thinking that it might have something to do with halloween, but halloween colors are orange and black, no?

on commercial breaks (of course) during our game, i would flip over to the tenn/usc game, and the arky game. their sec logos were orange and white (tenn), and red and white (arky). i wonder why we were the only school to have those colors. it annoyed me. anyone have any idea why we would put red and yellow on the field?

It was a jack-o-lantern. Orange pumpkin with the SEC "carved out" and backlit. They even had a green stem at the top. I thought it was pretty cool.
