Great news but I hope everyone realizes that Mettenberger may not start immediately.

No I'm not. I just don't see Miles starting Mettenberger over JJ or JL unless Mett can show he is a vast improvement over the others during the spring pratice (which I hope). Also consider if Crowton does stay, they will still probably use JJ a lot due to him being more mobile than Mett (because of the offense Crowton runs).

Provided he follows the rules of his probation for being found guilty of sexual battery.

Well this thread was something great to wake up to but I will not be surprised at ALL if our glorious head coach plays JJ over mett, or he'll play the switcharoo shite all year. Why cant we use QB's like other universities, start em young, and have a damn solid QB by Jr year???

You don't take JUCO's just to bench them....

Geez just stop.

Didn't Mark Sanchez or some other USC QB rape somebody underage and get away with it?

This kid drunkenly grabbed a tit. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do that tonight.

Nope. Charges of sexual assault dropped. DA did not have enough evidence to even pursue.

If Miles won't start Lee over JJ (it's obvious he should) then I don't see any chance of this kid getting game time any time soon

I remember reading the article Scouts put up, and mettenberger saying one of the reasons he chose LSU was the inconsistent play at QB. Here it is

With two scholarship quarterbacks on campus, Mettenberger said that he is eyeing a starting job. The fact that the pair of rising seniors combined for just six passing touchdowns only adds motivation to his mission.

“The opportunity is there,” he said. “I’ll have a few seasons to play once I get there, but I’d like to start seeing the field right away. I am going to come in and compete for the starting job, just like I would have somewhere else.”

Miles had to hint to him that he has a good chance of becoming the starter for next year.. Or atleast i think that.. But thats just my 2 cents
