He's not on the team now. That's just how the Rant rolls.

The coaches seem to really want him.

Have you even attempted to watch all four quarterbacks college reps? Regardless if they pan out or not, he looks a bit more advanced atm. Use your eyes and watch their film for yourself. If you can't see the difference then so be it.

Could PASS the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway passing test! (Doubt if J-Mac and King-Lord could)

You can say the same about every high school recruit that we pursue.

But when you go after a GRAD TRANSFER, you are suppose to be able to say more. Thats the whole point of a grad transfer - experience

When you have the opportunity to get the “best player” at any position, you go after him.

Again transfer usually means "experience". If you dont have a grad transfer with exp, you build depth with development.

Can anybody tell me for sure that any high school QB is better than Joe Burrow?
Can anybody tell me that any QB on our team now is better than Joe Burrow?

These guys dont have the experience. Now you want to add a grad transfer who doesnt have much experience? Lol

So it's not that we know Burrow is good, it's just that we don't have the guy yet and he comes well recommended - let's bring him in to compete against the other 3. We cannot let these WRs and this defense go to waste behind poor QB play.

This is probably the most reasonable stance on the issue I've seen

Or go through the necessary work of developing your own guys, rather than risk destroying the little depth you had. Should have offered a JUCO during the last cycle.

Owns a lot of Ohio HS passing records

Looks good on film

Our guys are talented but not ready to start

Because LSU has not been able to develop a competent QB in over a decade, particularly since Jimbo was on staff.

A transfer may be the only chance of escaping a below average QB that will keep the ceiling low for this team.

Depth at the very least. What makes you so convinced our current staff can develop them in a reasonable amount of time? Faith?

If he can remember the playbook, he's better than Narcisse.
If he can move around in the pocket and extend plays, he' better than Brennan, and if he can consistently complete 5 yard slants and 7 yard outs, he's better than all three.

Again, what does a grad transfer, with little experience solve.

A grad transfer WITH experience. YES!

How about several years of practice and development by coaches that have developed QB's before? You think these players just suit up on Saturdays to play?

It's the exact same people and exact same reasons, people wanted Coach O dead for starting DE over MB last seasons.
